Depends how you play. And if you get a fruit smoothie sugar bomb after the game.

I played a lot in college and I would say, yes, it'll definitely get the ol' ticker working overtime if you play hard and keep the points moving.

I don't play with rules, I think it would slow me down. We play constantly and work up a bigger sweat I have EVER had from anything else.

I used to play all the time until the woman I played with had surgery and quit playing - no one to play with! :C It IS a very intense workout, though I have seen people play "at" racquetball. I guess it's like any other sport, you can go all out or coast if you want.

Well I certainly go ALL out when I play. I look like I went swimming in my gym clothes after!

Would you consider it INTERVAL training? It sure seems like you stop and start at a high intensity pretty often.

If you would consider it interval training, is it more effective to do it that way or to time your intervals?

Yes, it's intervals. Whether it's better depends on your goals. If your goal is to get better at racquetball, play racquetball.

I guess my goal is to enjoy working out, and that is the only way to do it it seems.
