$ of Low Carb
I'm sure all of you have noticed how prices rise when "low carb" is attached to the product description but I just wanted to share my latest rip-off.
This past Sunday morning my husband and I ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel. I was attempting to treat myself and stay as close to plan as possible so I only looked at the "low carb" section of the menu. I ordered a "low carb" selection which included 3 eggs, 1 sausage round, 1 slice of bacon, 1 piece of ham, 1 slice of low-carb whole wheat toast, and 2 slices of tomato. He ordered from the regular section of the menu and his breakfast was 2 eggs, 1 sausage round, 1 slice of bacon, 1 piece of ham, 2 biscuits, hashbrown casserole, grits, sawmill gravy, cooked apples and a fresh orange wedge.
I had not looked at the regular portion of the menu and was amazed when the bill came and the price was identical for both meals! I had not realized how expensive tomatoes must be for restaurants to serve!
I know the breakfast meats were not one of the better choices but I was and am glad I did not order a meal with all the extra carbs even though the price was the same. I'm not sure I could have left them on my plate. I have always been a member of the clean plate club.
