Hi Mary,

There are people who have very drastic results with a LC diet. I would say most have a great weight loss then slow down. Everybody is different. It is my opinion that slowing down is the best way. It gives your body time to adjust so you are more likely to make this a way of life. Good Luck I wish you the best. I hope you have all the success you are looking for! We can do this ~Sincerely,MargoP

Losing weight slower is better, I know you don't want to hear it, but I'll tell you why:

For traditional low-fat/ low-cal diets to work there needs to be a calorie defecit, and the body uses it's stored energy (fat and muscle) to provide those needed calories.

On a low-carb diet, the body still needs some sort of calorie defecit, but a much, much, much greater proportion of fat:muscle gets used to provide those needed calories. (If you've read DANDR or some other low-carb books or literature, they explain why this is)

So it may take you a 2 weeks to lose 2 pounds, but chances are that it's nearly 2 pounds of FAT. On other diets, you may lose 4 pounds in 2 weeks, but it's probably not even 2 pounds of fat loss.

You are preserving your muscle while burning fat. The slower your weight comes off, the more likely it is for it to mostly fat.

Trus me, you'll notice the inches come off and the clothes fitting better much sooner than you'll be surprised by the scale reading.

I think you are being DISHONEST
and foolish if you think you are going
to consistently lose 10 lbs a month.

I would suggest that you consider the
possibility of losing 1 lb per week IF you
are HONEST and DON'T CHEAT.

That would get you to goal weight on
February 23, 2007. If you are impatient
and don't work the plan, you may never
get to goal weight.

Slow down, do this thing one day at a time
as a Way of Eating for Life and yes, it would
help if you started getting 30-45 minutes of
heart thumping exercise about 4 times a week.

Don't be in such a hurry. It took a lot of time
to put that weight on and it is gonna take
a while to get it off. Don't be impatient. You
are starting a new era in your life. The era in
which you start eating right and caring about
your health. Don't throw that away by being
impatient with yourself or nature.

Nothing worthwhile is necessarily easy!
Stay the course and reap your reward
for your increased diligence in looking
after your health.

May you have good health and long life,
