LOL, and here I am AGAIN, because I want to leave a note for Nic and because I am still wide awake, and sick of laying around, reading and napping.

Nic--- Hope this translates, experimenting w/new emoticons. But hope it is what it says, "a big hug."

I can really identify w/where you're at right now. Don't know what's up in the stars, but it's something! So many overwhelming things. Me too---so tuckered out w/it all.

BUT, here's the place you can say so, right? And that's a very good thing. Let's us know how we're feeling when we type it out. You are a very smart, sensible and able gal, and I KNOW you're going to figure out your woe plan, eventually. Till then pal, just do as you can. That will be enough for now. As Scarlett would say, "tomorrow is another day."

Charms---Hey, I just know we're going to get along great. I love me a dog lover. YAY ZACK!

Sorry to hear about the recent haps in your life. LOVE that you're taking care of your mum, and understand so TOTALLY, how it's both rewarding and frustrating. And I would add, just plain old really difficult and energy consuming.

I recently lost my almost 88 year old mom, and despite our differences and our battles, I miss her so, because our complicated relationship was ALWAYS balanced by love. Love always won out w/us. And now, I have the sad opportunity to remember all the places where we agreed more than we didn't---all the times I took for granted she would always be there, no matter what.

SO, you are doing the angels' work w/your mom now, as I did too, for my mom for many years. You will not regret it. I am so happy that I took extra special care in those last years, no matter what came before.

ha ha! I've already gone from eggs to a chicken leg! Wish I got such good "sticker" action so quickly elsewhere in life.

Charms it is great with some weight loss you can control your ankle and problem alot better. I think the healthier we are with our bodies we can certainly make it way more active in helping itself like with your swelling and pain! You are going in the right direction.

Blue just mentioned she lost her mom, so sad! I now am taking care of my 88 year old mom now, well....she is living on her own still but broke one hip a year ago, then just broke the second hip about 3? months ago. Luckily my bro Gregg has all his kids in college and can stay at her home with her for the major rehab/heal and I take her to my home to relieve Gregg and bro Rich flew down from Jersey yesterday---and today they all went to the Casino My Dad passed at almost 86 a bit ago..very hard indeed!!

just don't know where this will all lead with mom and if she can handle that big old lake house on her own, but she isn't on her own tho really but it is scary/crazy dealing with it all when someone gets more wobbly and has less power and all.

BLUE!!!! Hope you do feel better soon! Honestly I swear ya gave it to us! hubby and I are going down now. I was perfect this morning and by now we are both sucking snot down our throats, got that small sore throat thing and coughing a bit and all. We got a headfull of something now happening, kiddo not effected yet. I hope in the morning we are better and not going down worse, omg, I am not in the mood!!

Nicco, breathe girl, just breathe! You guys have alot changing at one time. All around you and with being kinda sick and miserable lately it will drag you down......time for a spa day or a quiet vacay with DH or such. TAKE care of you my friend!

Jaz, you have me cracking up still on that shrimp thing!
I wondered about you and your space! Funny you mentioned it cause when one gets set in their ways and their own space and time to do life, to have another come into it, even if ya want that, can be freaky!

Lori glad you are having a great time! I never would type on a phone, I can't even see the phone keypad and all let alone try to type on it with my fat fingers LOL

SO HUBBY finally takes our big dump trailer loaded with metal, my old washer that died before, old bikes and farm equipment and old deer stands and more-----he got $17.90. What the? HA HA, in older days we would get like $50-60 for old metal and at least fill up the gas tank....now it is paying almost nothing. what a waste of time, heck for that it would have been easier to dump in the landfill but at least it was recycled.

easy night....just relaxing now------oh and guys, nice thing is the freaking EDIT option does not disappear like it does on the old forum that was so annoying, at least here you can edit!

Saturday Morning-

Charms- thanks for your post. Glad to get to know you! I think you are in the right place. Taking care of an aging parent is challenging on every level. Somehow we always think our parents will always just be there. But the older I get- wow- life seems to just fly by. I will be the next generation after my parents!!!!!!!
It is true- with your medical stuff- lighter and healthier is the way to go!!!

Leeann- I think - just going to say it. I feel "we"- are in a transition. Blue- used the word serendipitous in her last post. I really feels that applying to everyone of us. Who would have ever thought that a group of us could come together at this time in our life- "out of the blue"- and bond the way we have.

Plus- think about the last year- and the up coming phase for us all- TRANSITIONS- I think describes this group.

Leeann- you are transitioning your kids into the adults they will become- and rediscovering yourself- and your next stage. I remember that stage. It is a major adjustment- but you will find another "something" to put your energy. And how wonderful- you can take that step back and re-evaluate and say I need a break. BLUE- is right- you just keep coming here GF- :hugs: to you!

Trig- Urghhhh.... hate to hear you are now got a bug- you all keep those germs to yourself! Plenty of fluid! I think Mussinex works well for the crud.
Maybe you can sit in the sun a bit today- it will be nice your way. OMG- you sure have me pegged. You were right on with the set in my ways comment. I seriously don't know how I am going to handle that.
hopes you feel better and the kiddo stays healthy.

BLUE- I hate that when I nap- then AWAKE all night!!! I feel ya. hopefully you have kicked your virus to the curb. You last post regarding your mom- and the ups and downs we have been reading about- sorta stopped me in my tracks.
It makes me want to put stuff into the perspective of the big picture. I think at times it's east to get so caught up in the trivial things - we forget to take that step back and see the bigger picture. Thanks for that.
As far as your WOE- goes- if the 6/1 is working for you- then you work it, until you are ready for something else.
We all need a break now and again- as long as we don't toss WOE to the curb- which you have not done. OUR WAY

All-
I was just plum tired last night- was in bed early! I am still adjusting to the schedule of having a schedule. My Bella- is adjusting too. She has become VERY needy when I am home now. I am never out of her sight and she usually has a paw on me.

this last week has been really rough- weight/WOE/Sleep/feeling good-
I have been feeling "fat"- with all this TOM- and fluid. I am still not done with it- physically- but mentally I am over it- and ready to get back up and running on my plan- and feel good. I find that being tired/ and not feeling well can derail.

You all are correct- that I can fully work on the WOE- and really get into now that the job stress is over. I too am transitioning into a new Chapter- a good one I feel.
Change is never easy- even for the good, pushes us out of our comfort zone. I am taking a step back this week end too- for some self reflecting.

Mr. Big texed me that "cupid"- has hit his heart. Omg- what do I do with that????? Urghhhhh- That is another post altogether. Granted I don't want to grow old alone- but IN MY SPACE.
I will self that topic for now

Rest up everyone and be kind to yourself!!!!!

Jaz, I like that, yes we are transitioning and all of us are at some point in change for sure!

Your new job will make ya tired But you will get into a good routine sooner than later and then you can get more adjusted to your time schedule. Going from no job to a work schedule is no joke it can be a pain LOL

I hear you loud and clear on how do you fit a new man into your life/space/and time schedule? You want it and ya don't want it I know what ya mean, I am thrilled with hubby but honestly the more he goes off hunting for days or whatever I love my freedom during that time for sure! Can't have anyone on ya 24/7 You guys will figure out a way to move forward comfortably I hope!!

HI ALL
Hubby and kiddo are off to the gun range. Hubby bought a new rifle last night and needs to sight it. Kid wants to shoot the handguns. Good thing is they are leaving soon, will eat breakfast out and maybe lunch so I am off the hook for any time of cooking---HOORAY!

But I have to clean BOOoooo.........I have been literally doing so much less cleaning that today I have to bite the bullet and do it LOL With them gone it is a good day to get it done.

Easy food day for me. bacon cheese omelet later and got some leftover pork roast for dinner.

sunny and nice today but that chilly air is underneath and you sure can feel it!

hubby and I are clogged up but not 'too bad' just yet. I am hoping with more drugs we can bite this in the butt and it won't become a full blown diseased crud situation!! OMG I am so not in the mood for that!!!

I hope everyone has a fine day!!

Hi Blue I've thought of you so many times and am sooooo glad you and the gang are here. A few different people in the group and a couple others I remember aren't here but you I remember the most I kept reading though off and on and would read your Meme's Fried chicken posts

So glad you all came here. The mods are really nice here and the owners don't expect you to buy any "Products". In fact if you like it here and want to get rid of the advertisements on the page, just join as a member and the page goes nice and clean and it's very reasonably price.

I hope you feel better soon and all you can do is sleep it off....that and take vitamin C.

I was busy- but at my own pace. I worked a workable budget this morning. I put together a plan- to pay off my not working for the last 6 months- well I can get it all paid off in 6 months- even trade! And keep my life style- after that rock and roll.

went to the library- and walked out with 5 more books!!!!

today was totally on plan- and just self reflection. Just really stepping back to think- it's tougher than I thought. I flat don't know what I want to be when I grow up-

Anyway GF- hoping you all had a great HEALTHY DAY!!!!!!
A day of rest-
I see us all as needing some oasis - and reflection- just do- we are all in different/ yet the same place of needing change.

Hi everyone!

Meme- I feel like I know you already from the fried chicken that Blue has raved about since I have known her. It's like meeting a celebrity!

Charms- Oh, a 3 pound gain for no reason totally stinks!! Grrrr. Hopefully you will wake up tomorrow with it gone.

Trig- Ugh girl, you gotta get unclogged and not let it run away with you! Nice to have the Porkchop and kiddo off for the day- enjoy it!

Jaz- What did you get from the library? Anything really good? Good on you for making a budget! We've brought our kids up on Dave Ramsey.. they kind of hate the man but they definitely have learned a lot about money!
Re: Mr Big and the Cupid.. sounds like he is all in, pretty quickly. That would probably freak me out a little bit too. What's the rush? Hopefully he can take it slow with you and let things develop organically. The connection will be deeper that way!

Blue- Thanks for the kind and loving words; meaningful anyway but especially so when I know you are feeling sick and blue yourself. I know you are still really missing your Mom too. My heart goes out to you!

••••••••••••

I think Jaz is right that for many of us, this is a time of transition and I know for sure that I am there! One kid with a foot out the door this year, one kid about to become engaged, one kid trying to figure out how to cope with the increased workload and social strata of high school. Plus, I realized that it is THIS WEEK two years ago that I stepped into this journey, and it has been one year since I made goal. Some days it feels like a long time ago and at other times I realize that is a short time for such a HUGE life change.

I am still puzzling out what this means to me- not emotionally, or even physically, I feel like I am quite used to myself now. It's where to go from here, what does maintenance look like for ME - not for someone else, but for ME. What can I live with, long term, that allows me to maintain but still be able to enjoy some foods that I "gave up." Having a plan seems paramount but I am not sure yet what it will be. And some experimentation will probably be required, in order to figure out what is tolerable and what isn't. Anyway, just thinking out loud, since I started the week before Halloween two years ago!

C has been doing well in SC and is having fun, or course, seeing the GF. He has been sweet about texting to check in. I dropped T off at his Fall Dance, he and his buddy were running their mouths the whole way there with nervous energy to spare.

DH and I had a nice time this afternoon- made a Costco run for a new tree for the family room, then went to the custom-personal-pizza place for lunch. I don't crave the crust anymore, ever, and happily peeled mine and ate half and brought the toppings of the other half home. Then some sugar free ice cream (single scoop) and done by 2:30 for the day. Breakfast was bacon and yogurt with stevia.

Hi all,

Just home from dinner out with a gal pal, hubby is still out w/the boys, nice quiet time to post before I crawl into bed w/my book.

meme---Hoping you'll be on this thread often. Always wondered where you went and missed you! It is just so cool to re-connect. Had to laugh when Nic said she felt like she was meeting a celebrity---that's how much I talked about your LC fried chicken, like every time we eat it, and I'm sure to the boredom of many, and it was ALWAYS meme's LC fried chicken, and will always be so.

Charms---Hate the overnight bounce up. But do remember you can't gain 3 real pounds, as in fat, over night. It's a bloat up for whatever reason, and it will go away in a day or a few. Still, it is disappointing. I only do the scale once a week now. Gave up the every day thing. Too much information. I find once a week tells me what I need to know without all the head fakes.

Trig---Did you get some cleaning done? I always think I'm going to hate doing it, but once I get started, you can't stop me. I feel like making our nests cozy and clean is one of those things we CAN control. Haha, as I write this my house is a wreck between busy and sick. But that will change tomorrow.

Jaz---Seems as your "new life" begins to settle in, you have time for the first time in a long time to look beyond getting a job and stabilizing, cause you did it! Now you have the mental room to reflect on other things. Good work on the budget, man I so need to do that. Been way too loosey goosey w/money lately.

Nic--- Got such a giggle out of the boys motor mouthing with nervousness on the way to the dance.

Happy two year LC anniversary! As "up in the air" as you may feel about things this minute, let it be said that you have maintained brilliantly, one way or the other, still and always w/in 5 pounds of your low. I wish I could say the same.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I'm feeling very good about my 6/1 plan. What it's doing for me is putting a girdle on my treats. Before, I had no plan for treats, just knew I'd have one here and there, now and then. But it was getting to be more here than there and more now than then.

The way it's working, is I can go out, like I did tonight, and not make an impromptu decision to have a treat, because it's not my night to do so, but that night will come, and I can wait. Ate totally on plan tonight while pal enjoyed rice dish and popovers. Wasn't even tempted. Not my night.

As my plan refines itself, I've decided treat night can be Fri, Sat, or Sun. night. My choice. This week it's going to be tomorrow when we're going to build a big fall fire, and have mac and cheese in front of a movie. And, treat night is just one meal, not an all day carb fest, so I will have NO carbs till dinner.

Like Trig says, get yourself a PLAN. So for now, I've got one. Won't lose this way, but not gaining either and I have a nice treat to look forward to once a week. And I'm thinking that after the holidays, I can keep my 6/1, AND layer in reducing calories for 6 days out of 7. But I'm getting ahead of myself. We'll see.

There were two trigs, Trigger, did she have a horse for her Pic? Or was that somebody else?
There was another Trig (later)who had a pic of herself with short strawberry blond hair and she was from Maine, I think.

Meme I don't remember another Trig, but I did have a pic of my horse on my avatar a few times. I would switch it up but definitely used my horses on there.

Nicco----you know when you wrote that out about your household is in change AND you were fighting being sick......I can see why you are off key a bit! Too much in too many directions, I can't handle that anymore either!

Plus like you said, NOW you are trying to figure out that future eating lifestyle. what can you do and how far can you take it to be 'somewhat' normal in eating style from the old days.

What I loved was the total freedom of NO plan. I want to eat this and that and whatever, any time, any where, no thought into it, but heck of course we all know that is what nailed me and I got fatter and unhappy and sluggy I think it is that daily 'work' of being on plan that makes me a little frustrated but if you want to succeed a plan must be made and enforced for alot of things in life. I guess I got to just get used to that fact!

Blue----I love you are 'working' your plan and sticking to it.
You have alot of social situations, with the girlfriends or your family or your gourmet hubby, wonderful vacations and that is a freaking minefield to work around! Yet you are finding a way thru it all, you lost thru it all and now you are making a life long commitment to hold your success! Like Nicco you guys are finding your way thru a maintenance program that works. Good thing is I can watch ya both and learn alot!

HI ALL
this is a nothing major day again.
we are heading toward cloudy and maybe rain?

Hubby was proud of kiddo. She loved the shotguns and rifle, not so much the handgun. HUH, before it was the handgun she liked the most but hubby said she did wonderful. When we shoot at the farm me and kiddo liked the handgun cause there wasn't a giant kickback like those rifles, I am a handgun person LOL Kiddo said she wants to go more! Right up hubbys alley Someone to shoot with! Plus it was nice to get kiddo out of the house with a gun in her hand vs. that stupid cell phone that never leaves her fingers! (sounds weird saying a gun in kiddo's hand but this is all safe shooting!)

Got good cleaning done. Gonna hit some more today. Might as well go thru everything and get'er done now. So it can get dirty again and I can do this all again---HA HA---omg cleaning stinks!

Will take doggie and kiddo to walking track later if weather holds. Just to get out in the fresh air some time today.

I have 2 small ribeyes thru the day. Will eat whenever.
Defrosting a pack of 4 small NY strips for tomorrow, not a fan of NYs anymore but hubby loves them. Will do on the grill tomorrow.

Everyone have a fine Sunday!
