The weight loss is great, but will the thirstiness ever go away?

About 6-7 bottles of 16.9 ounces each.

One recommendation I've seen is 1/2 ounce of water per pound of body weight, so that is right in line with what you're drinking.

Your previous posts don't give info about why you started LC and your health. Unlikely, but thirst is a sign of diabetes. Did you have a physical before starting? Do you check your BG now? It should be lower on LC but adult on-set T1 is auto-immune and can be triggered by non-diet events. Might want to rule that out with your GP. Doctor will also ask about urination. Are you on a diuretic for BP that would increase urination and as a result, thirst. Any other med with side effect of thirst?

A LC diet is slightly dehydrating ..forever. I've read the body adjusts to the new LC fluid balance, but I still need to consciously remember to drink water and eat enough salt. Don't force more than needed, but you may still be adjusting to your "new normal" hydration status.

In addition do you drink coffee, tea or soft-drink of any kind?

Good point, Thud. That's likely my problem too...I drink a large coffee in the am and unsweetened iced tea much of day in addition to water. Megan at Dr Fung's said drink an extra water for every coffee/tea.

I only consume water. No chance I have diabetes or high blood pressure. I didn't have them when I started this diet at 305 pounds so definitely don't have it now. I am on some psychotropic medication that might cause thirst, but I don't remember being this thirsty even while on psychotropic medication when i ate high carb. I find I'm less hungry on keto but crave water more where as on high carb i was hungrier but not as thirsty. Salt is a good idea I hear some people pour some tablespoons in a water bottle, shake it up, and it helps. So I might try that not sure.

No good answers for you sorry but a warning, if you put tablespoons of salt in a 16.9 oz water bottle you'll likely be making a funny face. That's a lot of salt

They say that 1 teaspoon salt = 2,300 mg sodium - and, whoever THEY are, says that's about the recommended daily allowance for folk that eat the standard united states of american diet.

YMMV

Drink more water until you don't feel thirsty any longer. i recall in the beginning..just downing ice water for an entire day because was so thirsty. I also read about how more salt is needed on this diet, which goes against everything i ever practiced. So I added more salt.. now i am not so thirsty all the time.. i think my electrolytes are in better balance.
