Default Hi All

Hi Everyone,

I was lurking around for a couple of days before I decided to join, but I think you sound like a great group of people. I have been on Atkins for 2 weeks and will be moving out of induction. I have a LOT to lose and I'm going to have to be good.

I'm 36 and it's time to get down to a reasonable weight. I don't care if I'm never skinny - I just want to be healthy. I've been lucky so far but there's so much I want to do that I can't.

I recently started a job in an ancient library which has steep stairs - no elevator - and I have to go up and down those steps repeatedly. Getting short of breath made me realize it's finally time to change!!!! That and going to Florida and not wanting to test the fat seat outside of the Hulk Ride at Universal - to embarrassing to test it in front of people. I'd rather lose weight and go back and just get on the ride.

I'm lucky to have a very supportive spouse and teenage son and I want to be able to do more with them. I try not to let my weight stop me from anything but of course it does at times.

Anyway, thanks for being there. I look forward to participating.

Hi Bailymous,

I kind of know how you feel. I have the concern with rides as well.
I am still in induction and plan on staying there until I am closer to my goal weight, and then go through OWL and pre maintainance and finally maintainance. Someday, when I finish school, I want to be a curator of a museum, and well, fat people don't get the jobs, if I can maintain the weight loss throughout school, I might decide to go with my first love of archealogy. The big factor in not choosing that career was my weight, outside, on the knees all the time, crawling and squatting in the dirt....didn't sound like something a fat person can do.

Welcome!

Nicole

Smile Hi Baileymous

Hi!
Just dropping by to say HI and welcome. I work in libraries too, so we already have a lot in common besides being in the triple digits club. I have 112 pounds to lose, because once in a fairy tale existence I weighed 145 and felt wonderful on it.

So you're just getting past induction? well done. I am starting over and will start induction today. I had to get back off the carbs, caffeine, and sugar after a trip and am really determined to reach my 25% goal as I'm thinking it will take me about 2 years to get back to ideal.

SO here we are starting off on a great adventure! looking forward to hearing how you're doing. Please drop in to my journal any time and keep in touch!!

In the meantime have a great sugar free day!!

Kae

All together on the road to enLIGHTenment

Post Welcome!

Many of us have lots of weight to lose, but you're in good company...

...just watch the stats of some of the folks in this group!

I hope you'll post often and take advantage of the information and experiences we all have to share!

Seems like many people want to be able to fit on rides this summer!

Good luck to you!

Donald
