Renee, you are such a great cheerleader! Thank you!

You're finishing the month on a "low" note too... I told you you'd pass me right up and you have. So very proud for you.

You said everything I wanted to say to everyone in your recent posts so, yeah, what Renee said, everybody!

5 pounds this month! Woohoo!

Renee: GREAT Month! Also, congrats on the new low!

Dgost: Sorry to hear about your health issues and your FIL!

Thud: Good job this month!

Louise: You are doing great! I know for me, the smallest changes are the most important. I always ask myself if I can do this for the rest of my life. If I can't then the change is to drastic

Bigjoe: Awesome! Great job of meeting your mini goal

Sara:

Toddy: You can do this... Make December Fantastic!

Great job to anyone else I missed!
Also- someone mentioned yesterday to me "congrats on reaching goal"
I am actual not to my big goal but I did reach a 5 pound mini goal. I set my goals at 5 pounds at a time. I just get overwhelmed if I see that I have a long way to go

No scale movement to finish out the month however, not just one but TWO NSVs to report:

1) I got rid of an ENTIRE fancy-schmancy "BakeMeAWish" gift-tower full of cookies, brownies, etc. by putting it all on a platter and carrying it to a holiday party last night. Hubby's financial adviser sends us one of those things every Christmas and, even last year, we ate the damned stuff, albeit in very small amounts spread out over the entire month. This year that particular stack of temptation is OUT OF MY HOUSE!

2) Hubby and I ate a good LC dinner of smoked ribs and home-made cole-slaw before leaving for the party last night. So after setting my contribution down on the food-table, I told myself "you really don't want anything right now and you can come back and get something a little later." And, wonder of wonders, myself listened! I picked up a bottle of water and walked away without even looking to see if there were any "lower carb" things available. And - wonder of wonders #2 - I STAYED AWAY the food table all evening!!! Not one bite! Spent the entire party enjoying conversation instead of stuffing my face. So proud of myself this A.M.
I too second everything Renee had to say! Congratulations to those who have had losses (some big, some little) to celebrate this month!

And to those who are dealing with plateaus....stay the course and I just know the whoosh fairy will visit you very very soon!

Hi All,

Hope everyone shows a final loss for this month, and that you got through the holiday without too many difficulties...time to get strong for the next batch of holidays! I ended up with a 10.4 loss, which is very good, considering 2 week of cruising and family holidaying were included in this month. I am really glad to be back home and on a normal track now though.

Susan: Thank you! I wish you much luck on induction. It is not for the faint of heart. I have tried to stay on induction since starting, because it keeps the hunger and cravings at bay. Once you get through the awful induction flu, it really is great.

Louise: Great job on your loss for this month. Hope you have a whooshie on the weigh!

Toddy: So sorry Nov. wasn't good for you. Wishing you strength and whooshies for Dec!

Sarah: Congrats on the 4 lbs gone!

Joe: You did awesome!!

Kristi: Glad you were able to stop at a few tiny pieces...I have never been able to do that, so I avoid, Just get right back on the wagon, and I hope you have a great December.

FLDad: At least you didn't gain with the holiday, that's an NSV. Hope you have a good loss in Dec.

Thud: You have done wonderful this month!

Dgost: Welcome back. So sorry for your and your FIL's health problems. I hope the biopsy comes back clean!

Dale: You lost, and had no gain through the holidays, that is always an NSV!

Renee: Whoop! Whoop! on your new low. I know you will continue dropping through next month too. You are doing awesome!

Jeannette: Way to go on the 5 lb loss. I am sure you will do awesome next month too!

Thanks for all your support everyone. I have been on modified induction until my trip in October. I quit counting calories and carbs and writing things down everyday. I need to get back into that habit to stay on course.

I agree, looking at history is very important. Even just for the month, sometimes. If I see someone feeling low, I can usually look back and see some progress that they didn't notice. I look at myself in the mirror every day and say, "You did it, you lost 40 pounds, and the job now is to keep it off!" My counselor would say to me, Can you sustain this for the rest of your life? And I would always answer, I know I can one day at a time" I truly have no desire to go back on any of my former "diets" where I tried and failed time and again.

You guys are the best and I look forward to seeing everyone in December. I set up the new round. So let's keep on keeping on.
