Default A-TEAM game 10~one week challenge

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION! ... NASA

We have learned and keep learning how our bodies adjust to the ever changing dynamics of life. We follow the Philosophies set forth by DR ATKINS in DANDR..1972 or 1992 versions.

It does not get easier as we get to goal and we accept that we will keep trying and not give in to old habits. We move forward, even if we take steps backward, we strive for success.

Positive attitudes and a sense of humor is a big help.
WE ARE THE A-TEAM!

Had a little bit of a bounce which wasn't totally unexpected since I lost more than normal yesterday. Still setting my goal for 2 lbs from yesterday's weight which means I have to lose 2.5 lbs.

Last day before payroll so trying to get to work early. Be back tonight.

Since I have been on a losing streak lately, I am pushing myself and set a goal of 3 lbs for this next week! I already have a good head start with yet another .6 lb loss this morning! I am not sure how long the great streak of losing will continue, but I am being hopeful as hell!

38.2 LBS TO GOAL!!!
13.5 LBS TO ONEDERLAND!!!
16.4 LBS TO BEING OVERWEIGHT!!!!!!
118.4 lbs gone FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!

LISA - I see you are down .4 lbs today! Congrats!!! Yes - I DO get tempted, quite often as a matter of fact!!!! I am human! Not a weight loss alien! It is ALWAYS with sweets, but I don't cave in because I am stronger than that. I find that my hot cocoa made with Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup and cream does wonders for me. And many times I have made the quick "cheesecake" snack with a couple oz of cream cheese, sweetener and an egg - nuked in the microwave for a couple min. I never seem to let it cool long enough before I have to eat it!!! But those things are very acceptable for my diet. Very low in carbs and that is all that matters. It is the crazy compulsive thoughts of eating regular sweets that get to me the most - I am trying HARD to put that behavior behind me! I refuse to allow myself to go back to the pig-out behavior of my past! To me, this diet is not just to lose weight, but to improve my health and change my bad eating habits for good! They led me to diabetes and morbid obesity!!! I will never allow myself to slip back into those behaviors, so when I catch myself actually THINKING about sugary things, I mentally slap myself! My diabetes will kill me if I allow it. I refuse to allow it!

BARB - Sorry to hear of the bump up, but it will pass quickly. We both have the same amount to lose this week now, so I hope we can BOTH see it happen! Have a good day at work! I hope it goes smoothly and you are able to have a great night's sleep tonight!!!

CRICKET - OH - I AM SO DIZZY BEING ON YOUR PEDESTAL!!!! Did you know that YOU are the person who keeps me there??? If it was not for your challenges and the accountability they provide, I would be falling off the wagon on a regular basis! I ALWAYS think "What would CRICKET say?" when I feel weak!!! The fear of the high carb noodle keeps me in line more than you know! So I thank my lucky stars that I found your challenges on the old Atkins site and applied for membership! This method of challenge and accountability has worked so well for me that I can't thank you enough!!! And I really mean that! Some people do not need this kind of regimental counseling, but I DO! So please do not give up on me! I WILL make it to my goal and I WILL continue to maintain my weight loss, because I have learned so much from you this past year & 1/2!!!! I will be on your challenge site forever, if we should live that long!!!

My stressful Coupon Mailer went out last night and I had to stay up 'til midnight to get it done - but it is done! But I have another design project to start today, so no time off for me yet. And it will be a beautiful day in the 70's with sunshine! So I plan to get in that pool for a while a little later on. Right now I am very tired and thinking of taking a nap. PQ woke me at 5:30 am with his paw on my face and the picky claws did the trick. So I will stop back later to see how we are all doing. I hope we can all see a loss, no matter how small, and have a very nice day!

PAULETTE... that is so wonderful to read and I thank you. Myabe too much credit.. you had in you all the time. I just gave the flower the place to flourish It really does help though. To think that you have these thoughts about me, even though I have felt as if I have let you all down by my record recently.. good to know that I am under stood

LISA... you rock!
BARB.. yopu know it will show a good loss soon. In fact, the loss is already there but just not on the scale.

I had quite a nice gain.. I do these large fluxes everytime.3 pounds..with the caloric intake well below my maintenance I know it is not going to stay. It is so hard to see those numbers again and to see the once loose clothes now fitting. I was about this size last year at this time.. in fact, I was this size and in the same clothes. I had lost a lot after that and will again. Today I am doing something I do not endorse for others but it is what I need to at least try to do. I will have lts of liguids..water and enhancer and do a fast. I do need to do this. I never do th is.AS IN NEVER DO THIS but at this point I feel I just need to.I had not had enough total fluids lately on a regular basis and that has benn a big downfall for me. It is time to buckle down. I have no excuse not to do that. I have one week to sit here until the ortho junk and will be focused and anal until the surgery(s). LISA.. the arm is not out of the socket.. the entire shoulder.. has rotated forward and is moved to the limit where the muscles and tendons are stretched and nerves are involved...so.. that's that.
I added calmers to th morning COOKIE feed bucket and will ride her in about one hour for a little. Hope she is nice about this outing. I want to ride her in the 2nd field where she is usally good. I will drag Carl with me.
SO, no foods to track today..oh.. I DID want to track the foods yesterday to show me what I did. Even though really off, I need to keep track and not just eat mindlessly. THAT is FAT CHRICKET..stealing that from my smart pal PAULETTE!..the old fastso would have gone and eaten whatever she found and not given it a thought. At least the decision and thinking about it does put this into plain view..and it makes a diffence.. where I would have grabbed those Klondike Bars before, I chose the SA.Where I would have had pure carb pancakes and syrup, I had a bagel and cream cheese. Is that great? Of course not! But it IS a lot better!!! SO, I will give me a little credit for not going to the real chocolates, for not making buttercream icing for myself ( I actually always have a couple of tubs in the freezer for fast cakes for the family)... and not making that dump cake! SO, today is make up and get renewed. Not with foods yet. I need to NOT EAT. after the ride I will go to bed with pain pills. I was hoping to sleep late today but Jodi called and asked me to feed.. she has 2 doc app'ts..so up I was and out at 7am anyway. One day I will sleep until 8am!
SEE Y'ALL LATER ..
HAPPY you all like the new game

PAULETTE.. please post that cheese goodie recipe for us ( ME!)

Had a lovely ride this morning. Not too long and wish I could have ridden longer but the damned shoulder ruined the fun.At least I DID get to ride!!! heading to bed..noon and so far I paked up bacon strips into single portions as well as the remainder of that chicken into the 3 oz portions. Froze all of that stuff. Helps to have all pre packed so I just reach in the freezer and grab a meal.Wish I could do that with the tuna salads! It is noon and had no solids..just the water . not a problem. I am still nauseaus from yesterday. Not like I do not have 20 extra pounds on me now! UGH

CRICKY - the mini microwave cheesecake is so simple. I take 2 oz of cream cheese (1/4 a bar) or more if you prefer, and 1 egg. I nuke the cream cheese first to soften it, then mix in the egg well. Add some vanilla if you want, and as much stevia and sucralose to be sweet enough, then I put the bowl back in the nukulator and nuke it for about a min or 2. You can tell when it is practically done as the sides start puffing up towards the center. I don't like to stir it or it breaks apart and looks like scrambled eggs! I just leave it in the bowl as is and pop it in the freezer until it is cool enough to eat. I am supposed to put it in the fridge, but I am always too impatient to wait! So I freeze it until it seems cool enough for me then I eat the darned thing. Sometimes it is still warm in the center but I don't care. It is a good treat when the monster hits you!

I tried to be realistic for the loss based on the last week of weirdness-- also interestingly, although I am down a little more, My measurements showed increases in my calves and even a bit in my thighs-- maybe since I have been moving around alot this week some water being held on to by muscles? or maybe just plain old water retention? But hands/arms/face feel better. Still not sure what the hormones are doing-- I am getting to the age when all of that becomes prett inconsistent.

Glad you got a good ride in Cricket-- I am looking forward to riding more, I have one mare who was broke as a younger horse but do to her previous owners declining health she has not been ridden in years (she is 15 now). So when I feel a little more spry and weigh enough less not to scare her when i get aboard, she will be a fun project. I used to have no fear--I started my own youngsters, or on a purchase if it stood still long enough to mount I would give it a go! But I have gotten old, fat, and cautious... trying to remedy the fat part but even then the old and cautious probably will still apply

Be careful with your fast! But I am sure you know what you are doing and will get the jump start that you are looking for out of it.

Good luck everyone with the "lose and hold" game-- This will be an interesting game for sure, with all the bouncing and stalling and whooshes and weird gains our group has seen!

Hi HIMI~~~ realism is the key to life for us! I join you in the older and wiser part of riding! When time is taken off from riding it does have an impact. For me, I never thought it would happen..until Cookie showed her colors to everyone, after getting toosed I became very cautious.. and after the last too, I am exptremely aware! I know you will have fun riding. There is always CALM-B from DAC etc.. and your horse is a nice age! not like my budding 9 yr old. Got her when she was just 5.thought she was older.
The increased measurements must be from swelling but that too is odd. You had the loss so that should not be the case. I think you did have a gain overall last game? Then that could be the retention you mentioned. Anyway you put it, it is not staying
Hopefully we will all see a nice loss in the morning.

KATHY & CHRISSIE.. yo are pretty much out of this game so join in the next with new numbers. I will omit your stats from the last game and leave you LOA

PAULETTE.. ( I like CRICKY ).. TY for the yummy and easy recipe even I can make I have not made an oopsie in all tthis time.. a good 5 yrs since last time! Too much trouble.THis is wonderful.. I do MIM when Iget desparate for something but this will replace that! I think I would be doubling it! have to get it into my FitDay! It is 4pm and I chewed on the chicken ribs and breast bones that I saved after I stripped them clean of the meat.It had some flavor and fats. Not enough to add up to a thing but it was good. add 2 sf jellos to the fast..just could not do it completely.SO, 2 jellos is all that can be counted for anything. Time will tell. Tomorrow is pool and feed store. How exciting. Had a lady call for berries. She got some from me last year and just kept forgetting to stop by..HUH??? she wanted me to sell her frozen ones if i had them. SURE.. she asked If I knew where she could get some. I said WALMART. gave her my e-mail and suggested that she try to contact me in advance as does all the others.I do not pick on speculation. That is how I ended up with frozen ones! Yes, I could have sold her the bag she wanted. Not worth getting dressed to do. It won't make me into a millionaire or stop me from going penniless!
I will change the chart for tomorrow since we all logged in the weights for today. WEDNESDAY here we come!

Default Wednesday..klaq & Jkn Day :)

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION! .....NASA.....and CRICKET!

This is a one week week gambler's choice challenge. pick your loss goal to get to and keep from the 21st-28th.

I am being optimistic about KLAQ day tomorrow! I hope my loss streak continues. But if not, being stable is great!

Today's calories were quite low for me - only 902 for the day. I had my chicken legs early, and some cream early, and now I am drinking my last coffee & cream. I was going to have tuna/mayo for dinner, but not hungry, so I am just having the coffee. It is almost 6, so I will not be eating more food. I am truly not hungry at all. My protein is lower today, only 55g - I normally eat around 76 or a bit more, but my fat/protein ratio is good: 75% fat and 25% protein. Great ketosis range.

HIMI - YAY! You had a loss!! Strange about the leg measurements. But it is really difficult to get an accurate measurement sometimes. Depends on how tight you hold the tape, the exact area measured, etc. That is why I only measure once a month. It is easier to tell if there is a loss of inches when it is 1/4 - 1/2 and inch. Speaking of measuring, it is about time for me to do that very thing! Thank you for reminding me!

-------------

I was finally able to get to town today and buy 2 new ghost shrimp! So Thing 1 & Thing 2 are now in The Tank of Ancient Mystery and keeping Pablo company. I wanted to take a photo, but they are kind of hiding out now. Some day soon I will get a good shot of one or both of them!

Have a great night all, and I hope Whooshie visits us ALL - especially YOU, Cricket.
