9 pounds? Not too shabby, even though I had a day or two of discouragement, overall I am very happy with my first month. I know the more I lose the tougher it will be getting. I just have to stay focused on the long term goal, while appreciating the little losses too.

Hey gang, sorry about having gone "missing in action." Another crisis with my Dad resulted in an emergency trip across country to look after him in the hospital. So once again, I am without my scales and I haven't even had computer access for the last couple of days. Pretty sure I've lost weight tho because I've been missing meals left and right plus being VERY careful that when I do eat it is on plan.

The food available here at the hospital cafeteria is almost entirely ridiculously high carb crap... so when I found out that there was a grocery store a few blocks away, I hiked myself over and bought avacados, cheese sticks, nuts, a couple of foil packages of salmon, and a bag of pork skins. I do think I've gotten some odd looks when enjoying my high fat feasts in the hospital cafeteria tho. Meanwhile, the clothes I brought with me are looser NOW than they were three days ago.

See y'all on the July thread.

Staying on my WOE actually helps with the stress because it lets me feel IN CONTROL of at least that aspect of my life!

Dad is doing much better. Probably get out of the hospital tomorrow. I'll probably stick around for a week or two longer to make sure he is fully back on his feet before heading home but, if I know my Dad, he'll be insisting that I GO HOME in about two days flat. I think he hates feeling like he might need any help at all! It's definitely a balancing act... giving him the help he really does need while respecting his desire for independence.

Thanks for the well wishes.
