I lift three times a week. Since I've never lifted on carbs, I have no idea if I would feel better and get to lift more if I did, but I am definitely getting stronger!
I started out with just the barbell, or in some cases bodyweight, on all exercises, yesterday I hit a personal record on three lifts and did bench press 45 kg, standing rows 40 kg (PR), deadlift 70 kg (PR) and standing curl 20 kg (PR) (i.e. just the barbell).
