I think plaque starts forming in arteries quite young, by your twenties most people will have some formation even if its just a little. Obviously the worse the diet the quicker the buildup. But no, arteries would not suddenly clog in a year and a half - this buildup would have been happening over many years.

I'm glad I read this - my hubby of 51yrs had 4 stents put in last year because of blockage - as his Dr said he was a walking heart attack - and his only symptoms were tightening in his throat when he exercised - funny his Dr tried to say it was probably exercise induced asthma because my hubby was in great shape and because of his age - well we just kept on until they gave him a stress test and found just a little something off - well when he had the angiogram they found a lot!!

Of course he was put on many meds and told to follow a low fat diet - well now I'm re-thinking if that was good advice??? He had his yearly check up and there is still something off so he was put on more meds and told to have a stress test done again in 6 mos.

After watching fat head - I'm wondering if he shouldn't be following a LC diet instead??
