Hi Jane,
I supplement potassium through both pills and salt substitute. The salt substitute is a little bitter tasting to me. While I can sprinkle it liberally on beef and cover the taste of it with a quick grind of regular sea salt, I can’t do that with chicken. So if I’m having chicken (which I always salt), I’ll take 5 or 6 potassium citrate tablets with it. For me the trick is to make sure I balance my sodium intake with sufficient potassium. How I do that (pills or salt sub) doesn’t seem to matter.
