Default Whats your local craving?

what local food do u love that you can't have anymore?

mine has to be kale soup w/ portuguese hard rolls....

1st of all, the main ingridients are kale (not so bad), linguica (pushing it), and white potatoes (a definate no-no).... and i used to eat like 3 rolls per bowl of soup and could eat 2 bowls of soup easy.

I must admit that sweet corn on the cob slathered in butter looks good sometimes.

Cornbread. My mother uses a cast iron skillet to make it. OMG. I love that stuff. She uses a lot of fresh veggies from their garden. Luckily I don't go over for dinner that often. It's one of the only things I eat a tiny tiny piece of that's a no-no. It's not the sweet kind, no added sugar, so not too bad in carbs. I love the crunchy edges with the butter dripping off.....sigh....

Tex-Mex cooking -- unless I stick with fajitas and only eat the meat and veggies (and who knows what sort of marinade/solution that meat has been soaking in!!) I have to stay away from mexican restaurants. Unless, of course, I make it myself!! (But isn't is so much more fun to go to restaurants?)
