Default Track these cravings!

I'm on a mostly induction program, hubby is following along, mostly. He marvels at how this type of eating keeps his sugar cravings at bay. But here's a sample of what happened yesterday, and it's such pure evidence of what happens when you eat carbs.

1. We were traveling, and had to go the Denny's for breakfast rather late, about 11 a.m. I was a good girl and ordered an omlet, which had bacon, eggs, and onion and cheese. Hubby got a scrambled egg/bacon meal which included pancakes...large ones about 8" in diameter, I think. He ate ONE pancake with maple syrup.

2. Less than two hours later we went to Starbucks for coffee. He bought a slice of lemon break w/frosting. This thing is probably 400 calories, undoubtedly a high carb content. He said he was really hungry. Me....I wasn't at all hungry and I stuck to the coffee.

3. By around 6 pm when I was home, I wasn't all that hungry but had a few acceptable items. So did hubby. But around 9 pm he was craving sugar again. He went down and ate something carby. I didn't ask what, but I know it was sugary because that's the track he was on.

So it's not tragedy for him since he's not really trying to lose, but boy oh boy did I see how sugar infusions affect you and really get you off track.

Yes; people focus on the "treat" as though it ends there

I work at a sit down job and we sit in short walled cubicles facing each other.....around me, people are eating carby things all day....the woman across from me....ate a banana, then ten minutes later a yogurt, an hour after that rice cakes flavored with some caramel stuff, a chocolate bar after that.....about an hour......then lunch.....an hour after lunch....she ate twizzlers....

Me? After my neighor ate her yogurt, about an hour after her, I ate a hard boiled egg.....Two hours after my lunch break i had a few bites of my salad........i got home and ate a cheese stick....then i had five shrimps with butter garlic.......that was my day.....I eat a lot less ......and it amazes me how often carbs make you eat..
