Default amazon.com

I have a question. I remember reading somewhere that this website makes a small percentage of sales when someone buys a book that is linked to this website from Amazon.com. I am just wondering if it would work for other books, but as long as you linked through here? Like for example, say I wanted to order the new Oprah book club book. Could I click on the Swartzbien principle link that you have here, search another item out, (the Oprah book) purchase it, and would you still see some profit? I may consider doing that if I thought it would work.

Talking hi Mari

I'm not sure of the answer to your question, I would say yes but hesitantly, since the order must contain the site's affiliate ID # ....

But I do want to say that how your little boy has grown! and how you have SHRUNK!!!!

Yer sweet smile's just as big as ever though

Thanks Mari for thinking of our web site

From what I understand, yes. If you click on any book through us and purchase it, they consider it "direct" click. If you choose another book from their site, it's considered "indirect" hit. I think one pays 7%-15%, while the indirect pays 5%.

I will soon add some search boxes in the books section, so people can search through our site for books on amazon, and hopefully they will be considred "direct".

Default one more thing....

Just wondering....Why Amazon though? My only concern with buying from them is that they are American and then I have to deal with duty and tax issues. Does Chapters not offer a similar percentage deal? or do we just have too many American contributors to rule out a Canadian connection?

Figure there must be a reason...

There is. We have about hundred links to books and cookbooks. Each single book back from last year had a Chapters.ca link, each link has a different URL and ASIN number. Chapters changed those links on me several time, requiring hourrs of rediting them manually to get the right code. Last change was 3 months ago, with no warning, the links stopped working due to yet another change. Chapters merger with Indigo to become, and the last one shifting to Commission Junction. I'm still waiting for the new links, and they're not available yet.

In our affiliation with them for over a year, we got a total sales commision of CDN$5 and a few cents total. With the last change, it has been reset to $0.0

So, I'll be delight to re type all those links and codes as soon as they get their act together and publish those per book links.

Here's what they have right now, this type of general banners at 5%

so if I click on that one, right there in your previous post will it work for you? or is it just an example. Because I am right ready to order a DVD from Chapters right now and I'm probably going to order a few more things from them before Christmas, (one of the pleasures of living in a remote community, shopping online a lot!) It is nice every once in a while to find a Canadian company that has a proper website for online shopping.

Yes, the above link is the example they gave me. I think I'll add this link to the books section, just in case someone is looking for it.
