Red face Protein powder....question

I bought some protein powder. I have been buying the drinks already made.
I usually get isopure and EAS already made drinks. ($$)
I bought a powder made by biotech. The health store lady recommended it.
I made it with the following ingrediants:

16oz h20
2scoops protein powder so called vanilla flavor
1 tbls flax oil
2 tbls heavy cream

This drink is gross. Is it suppose to be? It tastes like rotten milk mixxed with water. I have to force it down. . Every drink I feel like i am going to gag it up.
My question is: Is there any thing else I can add to it to give it a little taste?
The already made drinks I was buying before I liked. (but too much $$$)
They were not bad at all.

Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks all.

I wonder if the flax is adding to the bad taste?

You might try a teaspoon of cocoa.. it adds 1 carb I think.
Depending on how strict you are there are syrups by Atkins and DiVinchi - I have not tried them yet though, I'm afraid of using too much.

The best tasting protein powder I've tried, by far, is Nitro Tech. Unfortunately it's expensive too There are three carbs and 22 grams of protein per scoop. It makes incredible mousse mixed into a thick pudding with cocoa and cream, then mixed up with whipped cream.

Good luck on finding a palatable drink!

Meg

Maybe your flax seed oil is rancid? Taste it and see.

Default good call

Good observation Lotus ... flax oil should be used up within 2 weeks after opening it.

Sadly, all protein powders aren't the same when mixed in water. Designer is nasty, as are most of them.

Met-Rx protein plus (strawberries and cream) is good. Mix with water and heavy cream and it's pretty darn good.

I'd take the flax oil separate from the protein shake. It's hard, but, just 'swig' it and try not to barf. Actually, there's a 'cinnamon flavor' flax oil out somewhere (I think I came across it on the internet before... ).

I did some yard work tonight after drinking 2 of the shakes today and during it my sweat smelt like the shake...

I tried the coca in it and it made it a little better..

I will just think of the oppurtunity cost of not drinking them..
IE. many cans of Tuna!!! Yuck ! I hate tuna

Default flax

I don't know how strict your diet is, I eat one cup of lettuce a day and use the flax oil as part of my dressing. It works really well and adds a nice flavour.
