Default reaching out for support

Hello kind people,

I am new to CAD but not so new around food and other addictions. I am finding it very hard not to go and binge right now. My good mind does not want me to do this, the addict does, and doesn't seem to care what my good mind has to say.

Anyway I'm in AA (hope this is not TMI for this board) and one of the tools in AA is to reach out when you are needing to support, usually in the form of a phone call. So I am making a call, so to speak, and sharing that I am having a hard time in this moment and would like to get some support until it passes.

Best,
Rachel

Smile Come in..... pull up a chair.

Nice to meet you. Glad you are here. I am new to this site too and am enjoying it very much. I get a lot of support from what I read here and I also find myself cheering everyone one because I KNOW what it is like.

Have you read Heller's "Carbohydrate Addict's Lifespan Program"?
You would probably enjoy it.

I hope you stay a while.
Libby

Hello Libby,

Thanks for your support. I too am finding this place very welcoming and really charish it.

You know, I ordered that book form Amazon a few weeks ago and still I wait. I am having second thoughts about trying to buy something from the computer. Plus...I am really bad at waiting....

If it takes much longer I was considering going to a book store and getting a copy and then when (if) the amzon book ever shows give it as a gift to someone.

Best,
Rachel

Good idea Libby, you think they have it. This is a good reason for me to get a library card. I just moved (short turm) to Orlando FL from Ann Arbor MI and have not as of yet gotten a card for this town.

animaldoc, thanks! Hey did you go to Michigan State? I just finished my MFA from UofM. My brother went to MSU.

Another question...I travel on the weekends doing art festivals and have been working on planning ahead to bring food to the shows. I am having issues with very hot days and keeping my veggies fresh and protien from turning toxic. Sometimes I do not have any way to re-freeze my iced water bottles at night so the second days food can be pretty questionable. Any creative ideas around this would be helpful.

Best,
Rachel
