I took it for a brief time to help me sleep but didn't work very well, I'd wake up after about 3 hours and it made me feel weird. I also discovered that it aggravated a nasal allergy I had, so I stopped it. Reaction to anti-depressants is really a very individual thing. I've taken them on/off at different times of my life and I find that I don't react the same anymore to even the ones that helped me in the past.
I was taking Zoloft at the same time which keeps me awake, hence the need for trazodone and I discontinued both because I hated the side effects. Now I'm glad I did, I read in the book "The Schwarzbein Principle" that anti-depressants can actually aggravate low-serotonin state and what we should aim for is to raise it naturally which is something they cannot do, they just recycle whatever we have, so if we have too little to begin with, we're "fried"!
