All very interesting. The big push I hear from standard sources of information blames the fats from beef and continues to recommend removing the skin from chicken. And limit beef. Bad fats in the formr and inflammation from the latter. WTH???
I struggled with this. How was this information/recommendation arrived at??? WIth a bit of sluthing I did eventually understand that grain fed livestock produce a fat that is overloaded with omega 6, putting the ratio of 3 's to 6's very out of wack from the grass fed fats of 4 to 1.
And as for the inflammatory beef...perhaps that is a function of the composition of the fat as well.
What I never hear , is the inflammatory effects of carbs. Most low carb dieters know the diuretic effect of the low carb diet. Perhaps I am missings something but I do think carbs are far more dangerous, regarding inflammation, than fats or beef.
I do find that keeping to a low carb diet allows me to reduce the congestion of my nasel passages and improved breathe ing at night . Incentive to watch carb counts!
Given some of the valid arguments presented on the effects of the knees and pain of the joints, I think I found my incentive to get this weight off AGAIN.
good discussion!
