Default Hi! New here

I started Atkins a week ago tomorrow and I've been web surfing all over to find others doing the same - especially ones who have achieved their goals. Feeling a little guilty today. I did a taste test that I was paid for, but upon leaving, found that the little amount I tasted exceeded my carbs for the day, so I'm really looking for some motivation here!! Anyone else slip up occasionally?

Thanks!

Hello,
I am also on the Atkins plan and I did slip up the other day. I have a hard time with food. I am 20 lbs over weight. I had a baby a year ago and I love milk and cereal. It is so hard to give them up. I only had a very small amount but feel guilty. Loseing 5 lbs has really made me very happy so I am going to do my best to stick to this. I am new to this too and this site looks like it is going to be very supportive.
Good luck.

AmyKat,
Hello! My name is Vicki and I, too, started the low-carb diet 2 months ago and have been looking for a partner/diet buddy. AK, hang in there. I'm over 40 (well, over!) and have finally learned to give myself permission to blow it once in a while....without the guilt. I keep a journal and that helps me be accountable. JUST RECENTLY, I started with the Phase I of the SouthBeach Diet inwhich you totally cut the carbs. Only eat chicken, fish, (u can have other meats, I choose not to) and extremely low carb veggies.....before that it was the regular low-carb Atkins and Carb Addicts Diet...but I was cheating way too much. With this 2 week phase on SB, I am finding I DON'T WANT TO CHEAT..my sugar craving is going away. From a chocolate freak..that's saying alot. I've lost 18# in 2 months and am on Day 6 of the 14 day SBeach phase 1 plan.
Anyway, AmyKat, just wanted to encourage you and remember to drink lots of H20. If you slip, just write it down and tell yourself it's OK and try to do better the next day. I would love to hear from you!

HI,
i was reading your forum and i saw that we both started about the same weight and our goals are the same. I was wondering how you are doing and do you have any good advice on sticking with it. I started a forum today under Countdown, Buddies and challenges called "the 200 mark", you can join if you would like. Thanks , kristin

Lightbulb Back on a diet again

Hi everyone. I'm new. Sometimes I feel like I'm never going to get to my goal. I have some success and then it starts to creep back up again. I bet I've lost hundreds of pounds in the last 10 years. It's the bread and late night snacks that get me. Anyway I woke up this morning determined to find a chocolate cookie recipe that I could stash in the pantry, nosh on at night, and still keep my carbs down. They're actually good and have only 2.7 carbs per cookie. I wanted to share them and that's how I came to this forum. If you're interested in the cookies I'll post them in sweet snacks. They're called Chocoflax Cookies.

Thumbs up introduction

Hello to everyone! I am in my 8th day of induction and am feeling better and better each day. I have fought this battle my entire adult life, and am amazed to see how carbohydrates controlled me. I am no longer craving the carbs, yet I know all to well, that I am at a crossroads now and I am scared as hell. Thanks to everyone who contributes their stength, hope and advise. Lizzybaby49

Lovely to be here. I have been looking for online support for some time. I have been following the Heller type diet for 3 years now. I haven't seen any other Hellerites as yet so for those who don't know it restricts carb intake to one hour per day. I have found it very easy to do . Put on a little weight last year as I became more easy going with the diet. Started strictly in the new year and have already lost 4 kgs! Fighting bushfires here so getting lots of exercise. Merrie
