We have enabled a new feature called "Similar Threads". You will start seeing, at the bottom of many threads, a listing of threads that are similar and relevant to the thread you are currently viewing.

While this is currently active, it may only be visible, for now, while reading "new" threads. This is due to the time it will take to re-index all the threads on our forum. This may take a few days until the feature takes effect on all threads.

Wow! That ought to save some time!

The only problem I've seen with this on other forums is that sometimes mega old threads show up and end up bumpity bumped up by someone posting... but whether that's a real problem or not is a different matter!

I'm curious as to how the similarity of threads is determined. I was looking at the threads beneath my journal, and was intrigued by how those specific ones showed up. Justa wonderin'

It's a bit complicated system, works by assigning points to several factors such title, first post, etc and mashing words to determine relevancy. It's not perfect, but works well occasionally enough

Just a note to let you know that this feature was turned off. Old threads will still show it, but new threads won't.

The main reason was speed, as it started to cause noticable delay when you submit a new thread, and the more threads we have, the slower it got.
