Default frozen yogurt!

I told myself when I started low carbing 2 months ago that if I was faithful and made good progress, I would reward myself with a frozen yogurt. So I did today.

Holy cow.

They say that sugar is like the high octane jet fuel that is for emergencies. Well, I got a frozen yogurt with some candy toppings on it. A reasonable size, definitely smaller than what I used to get on a regular basis. I have to say though, that was probably the first time eating simple sugar in 2 months.

Within about 5 minutes, I felt just an energy pulsating through my body. I now know why kids who aren't insulin resistant get sugar highs! If I had gym shorts and sneakers on, I would've gone for a sprinting run. Man, what a crazy feeling! I still have no interest in really doing that again, but I must say, it was quite the learning experience! And to think, I used to down a sundae twice that size at least once a week, and it didn't even phase me!

Reward eaten, it was an educational experience. Now I'm off to clean the house with my juiced up energy (seriously).

LOL - at least you channeled it to some useful purpose! I guess part of this journey is about the learning- so you can chock that one up in the "now I know" column. I see you posted this a while ago - how are you doing now? Did that one time surge pass quickly for you, or did you struggle to get back on track?

Oh I had no trouble. That was definitely nothing more than an isolated reward. Otherwise I've been doing fine. I actually got my lipid panel done a week later. I was quite pleased with my trig-HDL ratio of 1.
