Default Best Place to Start - Confession

Hi, my name is Brian and I'm addicted to carbs.... I have been here before and am returning again so I was looking at the list to introduce myself as a "new person" again - but I thought the confession was the best place to start.

I had start LC back in March '10 and stuck with it all the way through till about November when I finally said I was going to allow myself to eat what I wanted during the holidays. I had not cheated at all during this time and had lost about 90 pounds. Unfortunately the holidays turned into January, January turned into February and on and on. My wife had a baby in February so that definitely added to the whole issue of trying to keep up a LC lifestyle - when you're feeding a baby every 2 hours you grab what you can when you can. Well, here it is the end of September and I've gained at least 60 of those pounds back. I feel horrible about it - but am trying to just suck it up and tell myself I've done it before, I can do it again.

I "started over" time and time again, but would fail before the day was over - finally did it for good this week and so far so good. Have already lost about 4 or 5 pounds too - so here's to hoping I can stick with it and get all of what I gained back back off too!

Hey, you still have a net loss of 20 some odd pounds, and that is nothing to sneeze at! You're back, one day at a time. Congrats on the baby, too.

Thanks - hadn't really thought about it that way. Yes, I do still have a 20 some odd net loss. I try not to think about all that I've gained back. I honestly get sick about it sometimes, but I knew exactly what I was doing!

You can't move forward by looking in the rear-view mirror. Chalk it up as a learning experience. You have done awesome work, and you will keep doing awesome work!

Welcome back! Glad you finally made the decision to restart.

I also fell off the wagon and I am back. The hardest thing is coming back but with each committed day on this WOE you become stronger and stronger, food loses its control over you, you feel better physically and mentally, the guilt subsides and you lose pounds and/or inches.

What keeps me in check is coming to this forum where I can be with persons who relate to this way of eating and we can share our triumphs, struggles, frustrations, experiences and words of wisdom. Sometimes there are posts that resonate with you and strengthen your commitment.

BWorthey, you did it before and you CAN do it again. Congrats on your loss so far.

Good luck on your journey and thank you for sharing your experience.
