Post Gidday from New Zealand

My name is Tara, I'm 27, married, and from New Zealand. I lurk here reading occasionally, so I thought I had better join up!

I started Atkins last July weighing in at 264.5 pounds. (I almost died when I finally jumped on the scales and saw those numbers!) Well, nine and a half months later, I weigh 175.5.

Isn't LC just the best! Keep up the good work everyone.

Talking Hello, Tara!

Welcome! And congratulations on your awesome weight loss! I will keep you in mind - and on the buddy list! - when I feel myself wavering and weakening over a piece of candy!

Any one I've known who's visited NZ absolutely fell in love with it and has promised to return. I also would like to visit someday.

Take care, good luck and welcome again!

Thumbs up

Hi Tara

I'm glad you've come out of lurking mode and joined the forum. What great results you have had in 9 months. You must be pleased.

I hope that you will start giving advice to the new ones on this site, you have got a lot of experience, even a little more than me!!

Every success on the remainder of the weight loss.

Hi guys. I'm in Invercargill, way down south

Bloom - my family and friends are all supportive, although I must admit I spend too much time on the a.s.d.l-c newsgroup!

I've actually inspired a few people from work to try LC, and considering I work in a hospital I was pretty surprised.

Invercargill is very nice, I wish it was as flat around here. i was just saying to my husband the other night I wish it was like Invercargill, then i would ride my bike I bought one a year ago but never ride it. I HATE the hills!! Cant hack it
We were down your way in 2000. I especially though Riverton was very lovely , around the coast where the river comes out. Wasnt windy though and sunny so we saw it at its best. As we drove along the coastal road it was apparent just how strong it blows by the trees all growing way over on there side. Must get bitterly cold too.

Do wonder folk at your work are taking up Lowcarb, you are a shining example that it works

What is a.s.d.l-c ??

Cool Hello fellow NZer's

Hello Kiwis,
I am new to this group and have just started LC. My first day seemed ok and hope the following will be as good.
I am a kiwi also but have lived in Australia for the past 19 years.
How did you succeed with your first week please?

Hi Karen, and welcome.

I found the first week pretty easy, I made sure I stuck to the plan and drank plenty of water. I did feel a bit sick/headachy for a couple of days, but by day 4 I was feeling wonderful.

Although I did notice how wonderful the toast smelt that my husband was cooking for himself!!

Good luck
Tara

Wink Thanks for the welcome

Thanks Tara for the welcome.
I had headaches today and feel like I have no energy but after reading some stories here believe this is normal.
So the first week did you only eat meat, chicken, eggs, and cheese? Can we eat vegies in the first week please?

Kaz
