The metamucil (psyllium) is the "sweeper". the bentonite is the magnet that pulls the mucoid plaque off the walls of your intestines, and the herbs stimulate peristalsis, which is the down and outward movement that gets everything out of there. When I did it last time, I literally had to pull ropes of mucoid plaque out of my bum. It was like thick, black rubber. It's a good idea to buy some disposable surgical gloves to keep near the loo for pulling these ropes out, because some of it will detatch and come out, and the rest will still be attatched to your colon, and you may have to literally pull it out of you, as I did. I know it sounds gross, but trust me, it will fill you with immense pride to do this.
I don't think "pride" is the word I'd use!
