Beachgrl,
I'm taking 600 mgs calcium/300 magnesium and about 300-400 potassium per day plus a multi-vitamin (without zinc and iron). I was going to add copper back in however, my levels are fine without it. I am on 10 mg of Tapezole daily however, I've been on tapezole for almost 4 years with no consistent results. I started LCing on 7/7/03 when my T4 went back up to 3.00 and my TSH became supressed again (on 10 mg of tapezole per day). In just that short amount of time on low-carb, my levels are in perfect range.
If you log your food into fitday, you'll notice that zinc and iron are under the % RDA. According to John's theory on ithyroid, we need to watch zinc and iron intake so I'm guessing this is helping my thyroid levels as well. I also started drinking tap water instead of bottled water to help with copper intake (especially helpful if you have copper pipes).
So, between the supplements, the WOE, and drinking tap water, I am feeling the best that I have in years. I'm down 19 lbs. and am exercising regularly (something I have been unable to do in the last 4 years).
I hope this helps.
