Default Landmark Conference for Ketosis at OSU

The Ohio State University hosted “EMERGING SCIENCE OF CARBOHYDRATE RESTRICTION AND NUTRITIONAL KETOSIS”, August 16–17, 2018, will be seen as a watershed event in nutrition research .

This article in Medium is a collection of topic notes by speaker. Over the next months, OSU and VirtaHealth will make videos of this conference available. This was a high level meeting of the scientific minds in carb restriction, cancer, other disease. Gary Taubes was a keynote lunch speaker.

There will be more reports from this event, but other than Twitter comments from attendees, the first collection of extensive notes was posted by Dr James McCarter, medical director at VirtaHealth.:

I first heard her say this in an interview with Robb Wolf recorded during Low Carb Breckenridge 2018, but I didn't watch the interview until DD posted it months later. Makes me smile and nod every time I think about it.

Looks like quite a good line-up of speakers. Can't wait to watch some of these presentations as well as those from LC USA San Diego, whenever any of them get posted.

I hope Dr Noakes receved a standing ovation for not caving to the powers that be, when he was willing to change his stand on cabohydrates and his diet recommendation.

Many of these presentations have been posted on utube, recorded at a previous time, presented at other venues. Thanks to the good people here on this forum, awareness of these speakers is growing as we share on this community forum.

As for the conference itself, hosted by a univerisy will provide the credibility and traction this science and research deserves; praying it will lead to acceptance by the medical community, and finally an opportunity for more people to try a method tht works, as in my experience the low carb diets are poo-poo'd causing patients to give up on the option, or go underground and not discuss with my doctors.

A giant leap.
