Angry No pain, no gain...

I could really hate the person who first said that, no matter how true it is.

OK, this is my attempt to keep myself honest. This past Sunday, I start going back to the gym, after a five month abscense. It wasn't pretty. But actually, it wasn't as hard as I thougt that it would be.

On Sunday I did:
  • 30 minutes on the eliptical machine
  • 45 Leg presses
  • 30 inner thighs
  • 30 outer thighs
  • 45 but presses
  • 30 lunges with weights
  • Free weight exercises for my arms
  • 125 Sit-ups

Yesterday was a day off.

Today I did
  • 30 minutes on the eliptical machine
  • 45 Leg presses
  • 45 inner thighs
  • 45 outer thighs
  • 45 but presses
  • 15 lunges with weights (I got tired)
  • 45 tricep curls
  • 45 bicep curls
  • 30 over-head presses
  • 30 (um... what do call it when you put the weight behind your head and press upward?
  • 125 Sit-ups

No weight loss since Sunday

The other day I read something that suggested that cardio exercise is only good for.... the cardio system. The article suggested that aerobic exercise does not greatly contribute to weigt loss. It further suggested that building muscle through weight training was the best way to loss weight. Hmmm, do I have my first trainerdan question?

Opps! Forgot to post my previous stats:

Breasts: 48 w/bra --> -1
Waiste: 39.375 --> -.75
Belly: 50 --> -.75
Hips: 50.125 --> -1.625
Thighs: 29.375 --> +.125

U. Arm: 15.75 --> +.625

The increases make me wonder if I didn't measure incorrectly one of those days. Well, next time I will be more carefull

So, it has been YEARS since I posted here and in all that time I have managed to drop almost 20 pounds along with 5% body fat. However, it took 4 years to do it and it wasn't consistent loss. More like schizophrenic loss with its up and down behavior.

I started in again on 1-1-06 and would like to do a better job of documentation so that when I - inevitably - come to that month without any loss, I will have some idea of what I have done.

The past three weeks have gone like this:
Week #1:
4X Tae Bo Advanced
176.0 / 40% BF

Week #2:
3X Body Pump
30 Min Treadmill
176.2 / 40% BF

Week #3:
3X Body Pump
176.6lb / 40% BF
