Lipitor and another major cholesterol have their patents expiring soon. I'm making a prediction we'll soon start seeing more refutations of the cholesterol theory as marketing winds down on these drugs. Of course, the generic manufacturers might step in, but I doubt it.

I'll place that bet, too, especially since the medical establishment is seeing some chinks in the fat is bad story.

Maybe they will now start formulating new combinations, like a statin that really jacks up hdl. And then blend in some niacin.
But I think you're right ... and they will be onto another "it" drug.
