Default abbs and love handles

what are the best exercises for working the abbs and the love handles (and that back fat - my mortal enemy).... i try and do crunches, bycycle crunches, leg lifts, and i always seem to just tire out or get bored rather than getting that burn people talk out. i can go on a ten minute jog and be sore the next day, but if i do crunces for 25 minutes the next day i feel nothing. someone please give me some advice. I have lost a good bit of weight, and i know if i could get some firmness to my belly the weight i have right now will not look half as bad. thanks

I picked up a book called Absolutions By Rick Phillips, BFL author Bill Philips brother. It has a very good routine for building abs. The main thing to know is that everyone has the potential to have a six pack set of abs, the problem is that no matter how many setups, crunches, and leg lifts you do they will not show up until you reduce your %BF down to a very low level. For men the abs don’t start showing good until you are below 8%, I’m not sure how low a women needs to get. Another thing to remember is that strong abs are very important in life, they keep the upper body upright and strong abs are the best defense against back injury.

heya..Thought that maybe I can share a little of what I know in this situation. Human muscles contain a genetically determined mixture of both slow and fast fiber type. On average, we have about 50% slow and 50% fast fibers in most of the muscles used for movement. The slow muscles contain more mitochondria and myoglobin which make them more efficient at using oxygen to generate ATP without lactate acid build up.
Lactate acid is what gives you the 'burn' so lack of means that you are involving slow twitch muscles. It doesn't mean that you aren't acomplishing anything, it just means that your abs react differently when in strain than other muscle groups.
Hope I put that paragraph together correctly (it makes sense to me, but it's 4:30 am and I'm not quite awake yet)
Hope that helps!
