Default Able to exercise after surgery, gaining lbs???

Hi guys, please help me understand this one if you can.

Long story short, could not exercise for 3 weeks because of surgery so I kept my calories /carbs to 1200/25ish dly. Maintained the same weight the entire time. Started exercising again Fri.and Sat (cardio only will be starting resistance today) and at my weekly weigh in today I have gained 1.2lbs?
What gives?

Is there some physiological mechanism occuring here in regards to my muscles that could trigger this?
The only change in my diet has been to decrease my multi vitamin (MD diagnosed too much vitamin A) and I had soy butter 3 times this week.
As I was interested in initiating a carb cycling program I am very hesitant to start now.

Any ideas are appreciated!!
Kristen
