Default Yeast infection and IBD..what can i do?

Hi, I recently went to my doctor and was told that I have a yeast infection. He gave me a Nystatin Ointment and told me to also use bacitracin. I have crohn's disease, but I am usually alright, as I am in surgical remission. I've felt really worn out, had tense muscles, and basically just plain icky for awhile, I've had diarrhea, but I usually attribute that to crohn's. I do have a very poor diet. I've ordered the Twin Lab Yeast Fighters, but is there anything else I should be taking to help myself? What foods should I be eating? Any help would be greatly appreciated..I'm a college student, and its final exams time, so I'm not sure if my symptoms besides discharge are related to my yeast infection or stress...can anyone help?

Default RE: Yeast and IBD ...

Check out the file at the VERY top of this forum, the Intro File, that's the SINGLE best jump off point for you, there are a LOT of terrific links there, diet, supplements, etc.

The diet is ultra basic Atkins, nothing processed, limited fruits, no aged cheese, (nothing aged, really), no mushrooms. No dairy other than butter, no sweeteners, no alcohol. Basically, it's meat, eggs, low carb vegetables, and water-water-water. It's boring, but better than being sick. It helps to think of food as fuel ...

As an added bonus, you might find that your IBD settles down being on a low carb diet.

Hi, just to add to the above, I believe that as sweeteners go, Stevia is ok. At least, my bottle of stevia says so! Apparently, it helps keep away sugar cravings too and I kind of like that taste (it doesn't taste like sugar)
