I'm no expert but I do think that Protein Power allows the occasional glass of wine. Just watch calories...that's where the alcohol will really hit you. If you want a good sense of how it affects your food intake, try inputting your daily foods into fitday.com and see where you are at. I can only tell you that if you stop losing weight and stall, the wine may be a good place to cut back to get your loss moving downwards again.

Talking Good News!

Protein Power actually encourages a glass of wine every day! (but only one!)

Hey Gypsy,

Welcome to this site. I am also new to site and to low carbing. I am also in the 50+ category (57), love cats and love wine.

Let's stick together as nesbies and strive for success. There is power in numbers.

Welcome,
Eileen

Hey Gypsy welcome

I am 50 also (in April) and I am actually not trying to lose a lot of weight just trying to sculpt and tone my body and build a little muscle.

I have been on BFL plan for 7 weeks and just love it. I do however restrict my carbs as much as I can get away with and still be able to work out 6 days a week.

I agree with TeriDoodle about the wine, you need to have only one. I gave up wine several years ago it increased my appetite and intensified my menopausal symptoms.
