Default The Road Begins

Hi everyone.
I'm new to the forum and as most new people, I'm excted. My goal is to continue to see this thing thru until I meet my goal of 35lbs.
I did Atkins 1 yr ago after having torn my achilles tendon. I was used to exercising and knew that for the 12 weeks I'd be out of commission with limited activity, I needed to contrl my eating and it really helped. In that span of time I lost 25lbs. Needless to say. I've gained 15 of it back and i'm ready to shed it and keep it off for good this time. I hope to not only receive, but also provide help to others in this "weight loss" struggle.
210 today....175 here I come.

Default Thanks

Thanks everyone for all of your support. I'm down another lb.
Today is my second day with the forum, but 9th day on Atkins.
I need other breakfast alternative..omelets and eggs and bacon are getting real old. When induction is over, what other breakfast choices do I have.

Also, can i eat sugar free jello now?

Welcome VSGRAD! Good luck on getting to your goal! It will happen.

As far as Sugar-Free Jello goes, it contains Aspartame (NutraSweet or Equal) which Atkins does not recommend. I believe it's because it can hinder weight loss in some people. I've had it now and then, but try to avoid aspartame if I can find something with Splenda (Sucralose) instead.

I'm not good at giving advice on breakfast however, cause I generally grab and Advantage shake or bar on my way out the door. So, I haven't really gotten sick of the eggs and bacon yet! I would suggest checking out the recipe room on the forum and posting your question there.

Hope that helps!

Emily

I really love the Atkins Morning start Apple Crisp bar. It works for me with only 2g of Carbs. A box of 5 is an expensive $7 at Albertson's here in DFW, but I've found them at Wal-Mart for as low as $3. My husband really loves the Slimfast Vanilla Shakes (the low carb ones with only 2g of carbs).

Good luck!

Thanks so much for the advice.
I love the shakes, I used to drink them in the morning just because. I guess I can't have those until after induction right? That will be this Friday.

Here's another question, how do I go to the daily threads when I log on. I'm having a hard time navigating this site.

THANKS again.

Hi VSGRAD & Welcome to the forum!

At the bottom of your screen you will find the "forum jump" which will take you anywhere you want to go. You may also see in the people that have written to you, that most of them have a journal button. If you click on it, that will take you to that person's journal and you can see how they are doing and drop a note to them. Everyone loves visits and encouragement!

If you start a journal, others can visit you with some great tips, advice and lots of support. At the top of your screen is an FAQ, that will answer any questions on how to get around this friendly forum. Hope that helps!

Default Fell Off The Wagon

OK everyone..I did it..I fell off the wagon.
I started exactly 2.5 weeks ago and BAM...
I graduated yesterday (M.S. Information Tech) and went to brunch with my family afterwards. Needless to say my first plate was great..bacon, eggs, chicken sausage..
All around the table everyone had French Toast, potatoes, grits etc...so I said.just a taste of the grits...ok..did that..then I had a piece of french toast..GOING..GOING...GONE..........Man..I made it thru Mothers Day but didnt do so well yesterday. I feel like such a pickle.

My plan is to get back on track tomorrow, WHY NOT TODAY..I had a Chai Tea Latte

I got on the scale this morning and already 5lbs back from where I started.

I haven't lost hope..but I just could not resist..and now I'm bummed.

Better luck tomorrow..I"m also gonna hit the gym..so hopefully I'll be ok!
