Default Eating with friends

Hello Everyone
I am trying to keep my weight the same, but it is really hard as being with friends usually involves food. I have been sticking to the diet in the week and easing up at the weekend.
This weekend i have been invited to Sunday dinner and also on the Saturday evening, a Chinese meal with some friends. Now i am panicking....Is there anything on the chinese menu that would not have loads of carbs in it? I could just have a little rice. I have considered just taking my own meal but i dont think that i would feel comfortable. Would it be better to just relax and deal with the consequences next week? I would be greatful for some advice...Thanks leigh

I would probably steer clear of the rice and go for something with more veggies Maybe chicken and cashews, beef and veggies etc.

They weill no doubt have thickening etc...but not so bad as rice.

Just plan to stay very low carb before and after and you should be fine

Thank you for your reply. I shall do as you suggested and stay away from the rice. It is not so bad eating in a resturant as you can order a steak and lots of veggies (instead of chips). But when you go to someones house and they cook for you its hard to say I cant eat that as there is usually a sauce, although they all know that i am on this diet. I have learnt to say no to puddings and have a coffee and cream instead. Thanks again for your support. It is amazing to think that you are in NZ. I travelled around both islands in my younger days. Its a beautiful country.
Have a good easter Leigh
