Question creme de cocoa

what is creme de cocoa? I have seen it in a couple of recipes I want to try and don't have a clue!!

Crème de cacao is a chocolate flavored liqueur, often scented with vanilla. It is different from chocolate liqueur, which is usually sweeter and more syrupy.

It exists in two different variations: Dark crème de cacao is dark brown, while White crème de cacao is a clear, colorless form of the same liqueur.

I find it kind of odd that it is used in LC recipes since it contains sugar. A better choice would be a sugar free chocolate syrup or an extract like Kay Star White's chocolate extract.

Thank you Karen. It is in Dr. Atkins cookbook. I will certainly check out the other ones that you mentioned. I really just need to sit here and read through all of your recipes. They are just great!!--the ones I have tried so far anyway.
