Default A fancy dinner out..

Hubby took me out to a really nice restaurant in Nashville (about 100 miles away) last night & while we did ok on most things (lettuce wedges, a nice lean filet mignon, no dessert) we did eat a couple of these little "bread balls" (about an inch in diameter) with a dollop of honey butter on each...

Hubby had told me ahead of time that he was planning to have a bit of bread with dinner, so I decided to join him (in moderation)... With the bread, I had a carb count of around 60 yesterday, which is twice our normal... Hopefully it won't set off terrible sugar cravings... I included some L-glutamine & 5 HTP in my supplements for this week so maybe that will help a bit...

We had the leftover steak for breakfast this morning & it was so yummy! So far so good on the cravings...

I went out to dinner at a great restaurant last night. We had crab cakes (stunningly, they were nearly all crab), I split an arugula and pear salad with DH, I had a New York Strip with a (1" cube) gorgonzola crouton (made from gorgonzola, bread crumbs and egg mixed into a batter then fried), a quinoa risotto (about 1/2 cup) and 3 martinis. No guilt, more carbs and alcohol than normal. Will probably do something similar in 2 or 3 months. Just had half the steak for lunch.

And you know, except for the martinis that will all fit into maintenance.

To me, that's the key -- 2 or 3 months. Don't sweat the occasional, lovely dinner. Life is to live, and this WOE should be part of life.

Ya, I was a little worried about cravings because the little bread balls tasted so sweet with the honey butter, but I guess 60 grams in one day isn't exactly a giant carb fest... As it turned out, cravings weren't an issue at all... I went right back on plan the next day & all is ok...

In April, we're baby-sitting a friend's kids & taking them to the movies where we're definitely going to enjoy a little popcorn...
