Default cross fit

I've been reading about the cross fit exercise program and it sounds really interesting. Anyone here doing it or know more about it? I'm already in pretty good shape, but also 53 and female. I like to work out hard, but I really don't want an injury.

Hello! I hope you are well

What exactly do you want to know about cross-fit?

It is definitely more exciting than dumbbells and the treadmill, so give it a try! Interval training (essentially what crossfit is) is a great way to stay lean.

Alternatively you may try TRX - increasingly popular thing all over the place. See what works for you best and, yes, injury is not an option

I lift no weights at all; I've been following the exercises described on the Gymnastic Bodies website along with the BTGB book; I've had phenomenal results; been doing it since 4/2010.

Cross-Fit training is a blast. I sneak a few sessions in each month as a substitute for my regular weight training and cardio days. Those days almost kill me as I try to keep up with the regular cross-fit exercisers.

It is a great combo of endurance training, strength conditioning, and flexibility workouts all rolled into a single workout of the day. The biggest fun is the camaraderie as everyone tries to achieve their goals on the posted WOD – "Workout of the Day".

You should find a cross-fit gym and try a few sessions. I bet you will love it.
