Default Test for cortisol level?

Does anyone know where I can get my Cortisol level tested in Canada?

Any GP can do the test but if you're thinking about the new diet pills to lower cortisol, you would certainly know if it was too high because you would have Cushing's Syndrome which would give you diabetes and a high lipid profile along with the belly fat and make you pretty sick in other ways....... oh, also, in women there will be inordinate fat accumulation on the upper back/shoulder area.

Sorry I am not in Canada, but I went to a naturopathic physician here in PA and she had me do a saliva test for cortisol (mine ended up being way too high).

Thank you all for taking the time to answer my question.

I didn’t find “endokrinologe” or anything like it in the yellow pages. I figured out that the must be the kind of specialists that you need a paper signed by you doctor to see. That’s the way our health care system work. You don’t pay to see the specialist but you need to be sent by you regular physician. My problem is seeing my doctor. Like every doctors in Quebec, her schedule is always full…

I am not interested in the pills to lose weight. I am worried about fibro symptoms and some people on this board suffering from fibro said they had good results lowering their cortisol level. I won’t take any pills before a test tells me that I need it.

In Quebec, a Naturopath doesn’t need to be a real physician. I mean that I will have to pay for it but it also means that I will be able to see one without any hassle. It might be a good idea.

Thanks again to everyone, I really appreciate the time you spent to help me!
