Default Black Bean salsa question for Phase 1

Hi. I have been thinking about going back on South Beach a little later this month and I came across some black bean salsa that looked interesting enough to try. I thought that I would put a tablespoon of it on my fish or eggs or mix a tbsp into a can of tuna or salmon. However there is one ingredient in it that has me a little worried and I was wondering if this looked SB friendly for Phase 1. If not I will just buy regular salsa. The questionable ingredient is highlighted in bold. The rest of it looks fine for Phase 1. I only plan to have 1 or 2 measured tablespoons of this at any one meal and probably not with each meal.
Thoughts?

The ingredients are:

Crushed and diced tomatoes, water, black beans, onions, green chili peppers, sweet green peppers, distilled vinegar, jalapeno peppers, corn starch, salt, garlic, spices, cilantro.

IMO, as long as its not one of the first 5 ingredients, I wouldn't worry about it. So 1-2 tablespoons is not going to effect your phase I and you'll enjoy your food more with it.

I will. I was thinking about doing Atkins with a South Beach twist. My idea was to do Atkins but use the SB meal plan guidelines. I plan to start at phase 1 but leave out the beans and nuts for a month (maybe 2 months..not sure yet) and make sure that I get the minimum amount of vegetables required. I won't be eating dairy because I found out recently that I am intolerant to it. I might try some vegan cheese options. Maybe. Not sure yet.

I'm going to use the black bean salsa since it is low enough in carbs for my liking.
I am also going to use some of the food recommendations from South Beach
but not all of them. I guess what I am saying is I have to do what I need to do for me.

I just saw this, sorry!
I love this idea!
I happen to think that the SBD meal plan guide is a wonderful tool. It literally taught me how to eat this way and it made it so easy.
Yes, do what work for you!
I recall trying to explain to certain SBDers about why I limited my grains' & flour in general....they said I wasn't doing SB. I told them to stuff it!!
