Default Lots of low carb cookbooks

I have several cookbooks by Dana Carpenter that I love and others and I don't want to throw them out. Is there an easy conversion chart to make them South Beach friendly?

What in the recipes are you needing the chart for? Low carb recipes should generlaly be ok for any plan (but some more appropriate for later stages).

I guess I'm not understanding what you're wanting to convert. Seems to me that it would be vary recipe by recipe.

Krystal is right. It depends on the recipe as each one will need to be tailored to the parameters of South Beach.

Have you read the South Beach book yet? Do you know what its parameters are?

Generally, we use reduced fat dairy in recipes where its called for and lean proteins, etc.
Have you looked through the recipe thread pinned at the top of this section of the site?

If you would post one or two of them, I can show you how I'd tailor them.

Can you think of a substitute for whipping cream? I love the stuff.

Well...it would depend on the recipe (I know, sorry!). If it's something where the cream would be whipped, you'd probably have to find a fat free whipped cream or something of the like. 1 cup liquid heavy whipping cream yields 2 cups of whipped cream, so use that to determine how much you need to replace with.

If it's a sauce or something calling for heavy cream (so anything that wouldn't require it to be whipped), you would probably sub fat free half and half for the closest "creaminess" since low fat milk would be much more "thin".
