Default Are Low Net Carb Products Allowed

Hi,
I have been doing this on my own since the day after Christmas. I chose not to weigh myself So I can only judge my progress by how many sizes I have lost. I get nervous about using products that claim to be low carb. Such as bagels and breads. Are these products okay to use ? I have lost 2-3 sizes. But I get concerned that maybe I am doing something to hinder further loss. The products I am refering to claim to have only 1-3 net carbs.

Thank you

Some choose to eat those types of things others do not. No right or wrong. No you have to choose

It would be easier if I weighed myself I could tell if these products made a difference in weight loss or not. I ordered the keto sticks Maybe that will reassure me

The choice is yours. It's not a matter of being allowed or not. I only count whole carbs because that's what works for me. Some people count net carbs and that works for them. It's best to stick to whole food and not packaged stuff.

Some worked for me, some didn't. I could do Atkins shakes. I don't have them anymore, but they did help me out as I was getting started. Atkins bars are a problem. They pushed some buttons in my brain that remind me too much of candy. I would overeat them and get terrible gas from the sugar alcohol in them. Atkins bars are now off plan for me. I won't eat them.

I did do the low carb wraps a couple of times. I enjoyed them and I didn't overeat them. They seemed to work EXCEPT that they tended to push me over the line with my net carbs and caused me to put on 5 pounds of water weight every time I had one. It took several days for the water to come off. I liked the wraps. They made good 'wrap burgers'. But I didn't like the grief with the scale. Plus, they have wheat in them and I decided to go gluten free. I haven't had a LC wrap in over 2 years.

It isn't really a matter of what is allowed and what isn't. I see it as a matter of what works for you and what doesn't. Make this WOE the process of figuring yourself out. By the time you are done you will have learned how you should be eating to maintain your weight.

I just read your story CONGRATULATIONS. I guess I am just trying to figure out how to know if they are working for me or not without waiting until I have gone up a size to figure it out. You are an inspiration. Thank you for you help

Thank you for the kudos. In some ways it was a long journey down. But considering how long I was obese, the trip was actually remarkably fast. If you are eating right you should see some progress as the weeks and months go by. If you are not going to weigh (daily does drive people nuts), consider a tape measure. I would also go to Goodwill and get a pair of pants that were just a little too snug to wear. They'd be my next size down. I'd usually fit them within a month or two if I was eating right.

Thanks for the suggestion. A tape measure would be great. I have not weighed myself in years. I had to guess for my profile as it wouldn't let me go on until I entered something. I am glad I found this forum It is hard to do this without some help and support. I just ordered a couple of books One is Eat fat, be thin and the other is a cookbook companion for the first. I just finished reading How I gave up my low fat diet and lost 40 lbs. That's where I have been getting most of my information. Thanks again
