I used to do some green juicing. What do you put in yours?
A few of mine were for weight loss;
lemon, apple, kale
carrot, celery, kale, etc
(a lot of them included kale)

lol, all m ine use kale. lol

Usually kale, apple, cuke, celery, and cystal light lemonade. AND ice. RUn thru a blender. ( I dont have a real juicer and like the fiber.)
Original recipe used apple juice. Whole apple and lemonade sub for that.

My kids will steal it out of my hands.

Yes, my Jack LaLaine juicer is a real pain to clean, but it does make yummy fresh juice.
My husband hates it when I get it out

I may have to try the blender instead. Do you peel and core the apple? add kale, celery, cuke, crystal lite, water and ice?

Hi every one. so glad to have some Green smoothies buddies.]
I will get all recipes out tat are great and post.
I have done done Green smoothies for long while. I do not know why I got away from them.
I also know cals on those also.
I started green smoothies over 5 years ago. That is how I lose=t most of my weight and road to health.
I started out with a Nutria bullet. and Got a Vitamix.
I use cashuw milk>1/cup for 25 cals. and I also use frozen frits or bananas .as it makes them thicker.
I also use chia seeds. Plant base protien powder and so on.
Use lower frits with less sugar.
Another tip. When u get bananas>Get green ones. Less sugar. and freeze.
I will start tomorrow.
June 3rd.
I laso think Fiber is graet instead of Reg. juiceing.
Greens are 2-3 big hand fulls. I use mixed, Spinach, all kinds. But not to big on Kale. I do like bay kale better.
And romine is good also.
If you make big ones or know your cals in them. Use as meal place ment.
I can not wait to head from all of u. Lets do this.Ok. Post.

I bought my bag of cleaned chopped kale to make life easier and to waste less food tossed into freezer. lol

Re the apple, yes, I toss in all but the stem. The seeds are fine in small amounts, I usually just chew them up any way for the benefits. Most of the nutrients are at the skin, and the fiber of the skin is good too imo.

Im am buying more and more organic foods. AND garden. And orchard in hopes of decreasing the chemicals on my foods.

I like fresh fruits and veggies, but I must admit I don't always buy the organic cuz its SO expensive. I don't do much gardening, but I did plant some red/green peppers this year.

I picked up organic bananas for my kids--20 cents more per pound. THen feed the peels to the dogs.

The mixed greens that are boxed are about $5 a box for the organic.

Baby steps.

On thicker skin fruits or some veggies> Do not have to be Organic.
There are so many choices and information out there on foods and how to get healthier and change pass way of eating.
All diets work. As long as we do it. And just just one diet is not the only way> You can do couple together.{All depends on you and what works.
I think there are good fats and good healthier carbs.{ Our bodies need to work. And that does not mean we will will Not slip. The key is to watch those slips and get right back on.There is Not easy way.And at least for me> The last 10 lbs seem to be the hardest.
I just had Gall bladder taken out 3 weeks ago.{Surprise.
But doing good.
Today a Green smoothie.
Keep posting as it is also the key to learning and staying with it.
What do u think? What works for you. .?
Baby steps become big ones and that can turn into Running.

Yesterday, I had 1/2 lemon, small apple, spinach, 1/2 carrot,
broccoli stalk in my juicer.
It was pretty good, but I don't know if all this juice is helping the weight loss.
Sticking with it cuz I bought all that produce and I don't want it to go bad.
Hate to waste money!

I was reading my PP book again. It had a strawberry smoothie recipe I might have to try. I could add some Kale to it and make it green

That's not bad for organic greens. I don't eat many bananas.
Unless I want to make banana bread, they go brown pretty fast in my house.

Janet,
Sorry about your gall bladder. How are you doing?
My gallbladder has a stone, but I haven't had it removed.
Are you just juicing or do you eat solids too?
