Good morning to everyone. I am having a delicious cup of island coconut coffee from green mountain. I am so much more appreciative after the recent dietary restriction.

I have enjoyed reading all the recent posts, but have not had time to reply.

I received good reports on my echocardiogram and carotid doppler tests. I will most likely get results of the other two tests next week (delayed as I have to mail in the halter monitor)

A continued thanks to those who post links to articles and blogs. These are so helpful to me on this journey.

Good morning

It has rained all night and is to continue all day....not complaining!

I have found it very easy to eat out through my whole journey. The only thing that I have made sure of is to take my own dressing if I plan on salad. I have found that most will be very helpful.

Have a good day everyone.....

Good morning all!
I didn't think I'd have time to stop by but woke extra early and have finished the food prep. Made a crustless quiche with mushrooms & leeks using coconut milk. Held my breath that it would set, but it did. Also a red cabbage slaw from "Practical Paleo" book, a fruit salad of mixed melons, pineapple and red grapes, and a tray of crudites with a hummus dip (no dip for me). I am armed to avoid the carby food that I know will be there and perhaps someone else will be brave enough to try the quiche!

I managed NIH funded studies and worked out of the 550 building on Broadway right across from the hospital. I imagine you might have lived on Broadway as it has a grassy park running down the center.

Then I moved to Homewood campus to be the administrator in the Anthropology department. (that was super interesting).

Then I moved back to East Baltimore to be assistant to the Dean in the School of Nursing and retired from there.

Wow! Yes we lived just down the street from the front door of the hospital. We went back several years ago and they had torn down the row houses we used to live in. It has been 33 years since we moved away. How can I be this old? I was not yet even 30 at the time. We were there when a huge snowstorm paralyzed the city. A news announcer said the poilice could not get downtown where there was looting going on so a bunch of people decided to join the fun. I could actually hear the roar of the people looting from my living room. Maryland is beautiful but where we lived was not.

That is hilarious. I would never do that but now I surely won't be shy about asking for a sub for white food.

Thanks for the encouragement.
