Yes, the nuts have fewer calories than was previously estimated by Atwater factors. This means that nut consumption by quantity of the three mentioned in the studies referenced do not have as much of a potential for weight gain, and can in fact be a healthy addition to a diet promoting weight loss. I pay no attention to calories in general, and with nuts, I want to know total carb and fat content. To me, this is good news, as I eat nuts and never intended to stop. Just remember for those following Atkins Induction, nuts are not on the list.
