Default Alison Gannett - CONQUER CANCER

Pretty good story! Uses a ketone breath analyzer to see how she reacts to different foods.

I found her presenting in this Michel Lundell lecture from Low Carb Vail, February 26th 2016

Go Alison!

I own a Ketonix breath acetone analyzer and really like it. The up-front purchase cost isn't cheap but it's a one-time investment and re-usable as often as you want for years, and it tells you what's happening inside your body currently rather than what may have happened hours ago (such as the potty test strips) without the continuous expense of blood ketone test strips.

Thanks for posting this. I'd seen her website before, but she promotes so many blood tests, supplements and other non-conventional, expensive treatments etc that the Keto diet gets overwhelmed somewhat. This YouTube segment may be interesting to oncologists where her website could be a turn-off.

Yeah Janet, I was pretty inspired listening to her talk. I didn't spend much time on the site tho.

Just because you can do something doesn't always mean we should.

I am sending this to a friend faced with a diagnosis. I admit I'm worried because he's all "I'm eating whole grains and don't want to do anything too radical" and I'm all "You're sick! It's time for radical!"

If it is brain cancer, usually a GBM, there are a number of examples of patients using a Ketogenic diet. See the Metabolic Therapeutics conference thread. For other cancers, limited, but I have some simple articles as well as complex studies about Keto, fasting and cancer if interested.

Thanks, Janet, I am seeing how it goes

I did caution that brain cancer is the most prominent in its susceptibility to the Warburg Effect. Did you see Tuit Nutrition's big series on the metabolic roots of cancer? Fascinating subject, very well done, and utterly eye-opening.
