Default I need a refresher

Hello everyone.

I followed the Protein Power Plan in '99 for one year and lost 55lbs. I went through some things and went carb crazy. 9 years and 2 kids later I have gained that plus and additional 70lbs. I am ready to get my life back. I am in the process of searching for my books, but was hoping someone could help me get started now. Can anyone give me the formula to figure out how many grams of protein I should be eating per meal. I would REALLY appreciate it! I have been going by memory this past week and have lost 7lbs, but I would also like to figure out the amount my husband needs.

Thank you,
Ashley

These sites calculate the protein, LBM, BF% etc. using the same formulas as Protein Power (just ignore the Zonish comments)
http://www.getrolling.com/orbit/zoneCalcFemale.html
http://www.getrolling.com/orbit/zoneCalcMale.html

or, the chart in PPLP would have you eating at least 120g protein/day at your current weight and 81g at your goal weight.

PPLP says he needs at least 138g per day. Remember to limit net carbs to under 40g per day and no more than 10g at a time and as much fat as you want or need to feel satisfied and that should get you on track until you find your books. Best wishes to you both.

Although PP is closest to what I follow, this PP thread doesn't move as fast as some others, so I routinely check out the Atkins & General Low Carb threads too, which have lots of posts each day.

Have you checked out http://www.proteinpower.com? It has a slow forum, but excellent blogs by both Eades with archives on all sorts of topics, including the latest research.

I did Protein Power back in 1998.
I highly recommend you pick up a copy of the Eades Protein Power LifePlan (which came out in 2003?). It is better than their first book. Much much much better.

Good to know! Thanks! I haven't had any luck finding the old set I had, so I will get the PPLP.

Thanks again!

Ashley, you seem familiar and our PP dates are the same. Were you on ASDLC? I was Ann in Houston.
