Thanks for this thread, guys. It is very inspirational. Sometimes, when I think of how many pounds I have to lose it is overwhelming. It really helps to see people that have been where I've been and done it.

I did want to mention to Liz175 that a super low cal diet might actually work against you. From what I've been reading, it might actually make your metabolism crash and make your body hoard every little bitty calorie that you give it. Just a thought.

Re: Factors for success...since I haven't done that, I can't comment, but I do have some experience with failing. For me, it almost always comes down to not taking the time to plan ahead for meals and snacks. For me, I have to have it all figured out BEFORE I get hungry, otherwise, I'm just a trip to the fast food join waiting to happen.

My new motto: Failing to plan = planning to fail.

Have a great day, everyone!

I've lost 108 pounds since I first started, back in September 2003. In between then and now I got pregnant, and went off track for a while during the pregnancy, then went back to lcing when my son was about four months old.

I weighed 251 when I found out I was pregnant, and now with my son 16-months-old, I weigh 209.

There's been some challenges along the way, but I keep reminding myself that even if I never lose another pound, life is absolutely much easier weighing 100 pounds less!

Being a part of this forum, with all of the support, has made all the difference to me.

Congrats to everyone on this thread. Sometimes it is daunting to me that even when I will be able to say I have lost 100 pounds, I am only going to be half way there! That depresses me a bit, but I am going to keep these inspirational stories in my mind.

Betsy STL: congratulations, Girl! You are cookin' with gas now. (You know...there are times when the things that come from my fingers frighten even me. I am 18 at heart and 56 in corny old sayings!)

This is one inspirational threat (so I thought I'd bump it up)

Anyone else joined the 100 lost club lately?

No Good. I have fallen.....

Started Atkins May -2003 and was down 127 pounds.

A lot of stuff happend. Lost a couple of immediate family members. Then got married with step kids. Complete lifestyle changes. Now there is always cake and ice cream in the house. Not to mention I married a thin athletic woman who has never been over weight. So I went from 350 to 238, now back up to 275. But I am back on induction for the last 10 days. I have not checked a scale, but my jeans are fitting better already. My wife is becoming less sceptical of Low-carbing. She has always been the (just go run it off!) type! But she cannot ignore the success I had in 2003-2004. But it is not her responsibility. It is mine, and mine alone. I want the skinny feeling back !!

So I am back !

I'm glad you're back Brent.

My dh is a naturally thin person & I have one dd like that. They just don't "get it" any more than we get what it's like to be one of those thin people.

You know LC works, and you'll get back down, and feel great to boot!
