Hi gals and pals.
Nic---So loved your travel diary! I was right there w/you vicariously. Seems like you packed a lot of fun stuff into a very short time---some good food, sight seeing, music AND a dear old pal. Doesn't get much better than that in a day and a half.
And that's not to even mention that trip to your old campus. Your
beautiful description of that really resonated with me. Loved this idea---like having two of you there, the younger one and the older one---so poignant. I feel that way every time I visit my old campus too, in fact every time I visit my home town---increasing less often since my dad passed.
Glad you found a way to like the granola. Here's my new concept for a night when everyone else is having dessert at our house. The granola, plus
whipped cream, sprinkled w/nestle's dark chocolate chips and roasted sliver almonds. I can sprinkle with 1/4 a cup of Nestle's dark chocolate chips---and I love dark chocolate---for 7 Ncs. Think I'd probably be happy with half that. Not an every day thing, but I think it might be a great LC dessert option.
Trigger---So glad you're getting out of Dodge the day after Xmas. Sometimes we just need to put a few miles on a road to somewhere else to feel our daily stresses melt away.
I am curious, though. Where do you go to "beach it" this time of year, and what do you mean by "cooler?" Ha, asks the gal from Minnesota. You've done this before. What do you guys do that's different on a "winter" beach vacation?
What do you like about it? Sorry for quiz, but I'm genuinely interested.
Jaz---Thanks for the pix! I loved seeing them. As I said to
Nic, I'm living vicariously when it comes to travel right now, and like you, love the details. Charleston looks so beautiful.
So fun to hear Trig and the pork chop honeymooned there.
And girl, you are such a pip!!!! Life let you down for a minute there and you packed up your dogger and headed out for a great experience. I can't think of money any better spent at this point in time for you.
Fun on the necklace! Bet it's out of its bag w/in seconds of returning to your room.
Part of enjoying a treat like that is re-appreciating it and enjoying it.
K-mom---Thurs. water. 3/3

Well gals, I finally caught up w/all you early birds in Xmas shopping. 98% done, and all on line. Got great deals, free shipping and feel really good about all my choices---which I didn't always in the old days when shopping brick and mortar in a frazzle. Lack of sizes and choices, pure exhaustion sometimes just running all over the place to find the right thing. Sometimes settled for less than I wanted to for the money. Don't have that experience on line. Although it does take time, and some experience in knowing how to make it work best.
I love to shop in the real world, but not at Xmas, except for a few little things and that's fun.
On plan. Had a bit of left over edamame spaghetti and shrimp for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet. Hubby won't be home till later, all up to me, and all I know right now is that it will be low carb.
We have a couple of events next week, one in particular, that I know will be an off plan night. Hoping to stay on plan till then.
Haven't put a foot on the scale since it showed me 4 pounds down. Who wants to erase that moment?! I can feel in my clothing that I have not totally sustained that, but not by a lot.
Truth is, I AM maintaining, if at a higher weight than I wished, but yet at a MUCH LOWER weight than I use to be.
