I hope 150 isn't a whole lot. I am on 200.
(I admit that the dose was determined 120 lbs ago when I was at 365.)
My doc has said that it is a wee bit high, and it may be decreased
next blood test.

As long as you don't feel hyper, it isn't a lot.

I think they use 1mcg per pound as a sort of starting point for dosing. So it really depends on your size and such. I've been on 125mcg for 20 years.

I was originally on .075 mg, bumped to .1mg last year. Synthroid doesn't make you lose weight though. It controls your thyroid levels, but I noticed maybe a 2 lbs loss when I originally went on it.

I've just swapped from my UK version of synthyroid to an Australian one and I've lost a few pounds this week. Same levels, different results. Interesting!

When I went to 150 Mcg, my doctor told me my thyroid was functioning at 20%. That's not good. But once I started exercizing, they were able to drop back the dose, because it kicked in. The LC diet will help your thyroid because it reduces the acid in your system, which attacks the thyroid. The higher ph will help your thyroid overall. Good luck!

Synthroid makes dosages up to 300 mcg. THAT'S a high dose. Iv'e been taking 175 mcg plus 15 mcg Cytomel (T3) and doing fine, but that's me. YMMV.

Acid in your system attacks your thyroid? How interesting. I've never heard of this before. Have you got the source for the paper, or medical journal you read this in? I'd like to research it further.
